Introducció
The Zareba ESP5M-Z Solar Powered Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger is designed to provide reliable power to your electric fence system, ensuring effective containment of animals and deterrence of predators. This energizer is ideal for remote locations where traditional power sources are unavailable, as it operates efficiently using solar energy.
It is capable of energizing up to 5 miles of fencing under ideal conditions (no weeds) and up to 2.5 miles in light weed conditions. The unit features low impedance technology, which helps minimize battery drain and resist shorts when the fence comes into contact with vegetation.

Configuració

Before first use, place the Zareba ESP5M-Z unit in full sunlight for 3 days with the unit in the "off" position. This initial charging period ensures the internal rechargeable battery is fully charged and ready for optimal performance.

The charger is equipped with an integrated mounting bracket designed for versatile installation on various types of posts, including T-posts, Y-posts, and round-wood posts. For T-posts, the charger can rotate 360 degrees, allowing you to adjust its position to face the sun's changing directions throughout the day for maximum solar exposure.

Connect the fence line to the appropriate terminals on the charger. Ensure all connections are secure to maintain proper electrical flow. The unit is designed to work with various fence types, including steel/aluminum wire, poly wire/poly rope, and poly tape.

After the initial 3-day charging period, switch the unit to the "on" position. The charger is designed to operate day and night, capable of running for up to 2 weeks without direct sunlight once fully charged, thanks to its internal rechargeable battery.

The charger delivers 0.15 output joules, providing an effective deterrent for various animals including cattle, horses, pigs, and goats. The low impedance design helps maintain consistent voltage even with some vegetation contact on the fence line.

Manteniment
Keeping the Fence Line Clear
To ensure optimal performance, regularly inspect and clear the fence line of excessive vegetation. Heavy weed growth can reduce the effective range and shock strength of the energizer.

While the unit can operate for extended periods without direct sunlight, consistent exposure to sunlight will maximize battery life and ensure continuous operation.

- Allow for charging: If the unit has been in prolonged shade, allow it sufficient time (e.g., 3 days) in direct sunlight to fully recharge.

- Disconnect the charger from the fence and ground during electrical storms.
- Consider installing a lightning diverter/arrestor to redirect lightning to the earth.
