5.1. Brush Application

• Apply paint in thin, even coats. Avoid applying thick layers, as this can lead to uneven drying and loss of detail.
• Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next. This typically takes 10-20 minutes, depending on humidity and temperature.
• For best results, use a high-quality brush appropriate for model painting.

5.2. Airbrush Application

• Ensure the paint is thinned to the correct consistency for your airbrush. A milk-like consistency is often a good starting point.
• Maintain a consistent air pressure, typically between 15-25 PSI, adjusting as needed for desired spray pattern and paint flow.
• Apply paint in light, even passes. Over-spraying can lead to pooling or runs.
• Allow flash-drying between coats to prevent paint build-up and ensure a smooth finish.

5.3. Drying and Curing

• Tamiya acrylic paints are touch-dry within minutes. However, allow several hours for the paint to fully cure and harden before handling extensively or applying subsequent layers like clear coats or washes.
• The XF series paints, including XF-65 Field Gray, provide a flat (matte) finish.
