Introducció

The GPI M-150 Series Fuel Transfer Pump is a high-efficiency gear technology pump designed for reliable fuel transfer in various applications. Manufactured in the USA with globally sourced components, it features a rugged diecast aluminum housing and a rotary gear design for minimal maintenance and extended pump life. This pump is compatible with gasoline, E15 ethanol blends, diesel fuel blends (up to B20), and kerosene.

Designed for mobile applications, the M-150 pump is ideal for transferring fuel from truck or trailer-mounted tanks powered by a 12V DC battery. Its robust construction ensures dependable performance even in harsh weather conditions, with operation possible at temperatures as low as -20°F (-29°C).

Configuració i instal·lació

1. Instal·lació de la bomba

1. Aplicar cinta de fil: Apply thread tape to all threaded joints, including hoses, suction pipes, and adapters, to ensure a secure, leak-free connection.
2. Install Bung Adapter: Install the included bung adapter onto your fuel tank. Tighten it down securely with a pipe wrench.
3. Install Gasket and Suction Pipe: Install the gasket and suction pipe onto the pump. Extend the suction pipe to its full length.
4. Muntar la bomba: Install the pump onto the bung adapter. If your model has a spin collar, tighten it with a pipe wrench. For direct mount models, install directly onto the tank.
5. Connecteu la mànega: Attach the dispensing hose to the pump. Tighten the hose securely with a crescent wrench to prevent leaks.
6. Col·loca el broquet: Attach the manual unleaded nozzle to the end of the dispensing hose.

2. Power Wire Installation (Permanent Connection)

For a permanent connection to your truck's battery:

1. Route Power Wire: Feed the factory-installed power wire down through the gap between your truck bed and cab. Secure the power wire with zip ties (not included) at regular intervals underneath the truck along the frame.
2. Engine Bay Routing: Feed the power wire along the firewall and up into the engine bay. Ensure the wire is clear of the exhaust or any moving components that could damage it.
3. Terminate Negative Wire: Terminate the negative power wire using a ring terminal, crimping it securely.
4. Terminate Positive Wire with Fuse: Crimp the positive wire to one end of the butt connector. Strip 1/3 inch of insulation from each end of the included fuse and crimp the fuse to the other side of the butt connector. Terminate the other end of the fuse wire with a ring terminal.
5. Connectar a la bateria: Ensure the power switch on your pump is turned off. Connect the negative power wire to your battery's negative terminal. Connect the positive power wire (with the fuse assembly) to the positive terminal.

3. Power Wire Installation (Temporary Connection - Optional)

If you prefer a temporary connection using optional battery clamps (sold separately):

1. Strip Wires: Strip 1.5 inches of insulation from the fuse wire and the negative wire. Twist the strands tightly.
2. Prepare Clamps: Remove the insulator from one side of each battery clamp and slide the insulators onto the power wires.
3. Insert and Crimp: Insert the stripped fuse wire into the positive clamp and the negative wire into the negative clamp. Fold each stripped wire back to the crimp joint on the clamp and crimp the wire securely.
4. Solder (Optional but Recommended): Apply flux to the stripped wire and solder the wire to the clamp per a una connexió més segura.
5. Reinstall Insulators: Reinstall the insulator onto the clamp.

• Strainer Access: The pump features a unique strainer and poppet design that allows for easy access and maintenance. Regularly check and clean the strainer to prevent debris from entering the pump and affecting its performance.

Resolució de problemes

If you encounter issues with your GPI M-150 pump, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

• La bomba no funciona:
  • Check power connections to the battery.
  • Ensure the power switch on the pump is in the ON position.
  • Inspect the fuse assembly for a blown fuse. Replace if necessary.

  • Check the strainer for clogs and clean if obstructed.
  • Ensure the suction pipe is fully submerged in fuel and not drawing air.
