The STANLEY FATMAX Autolock Tape is a precision measuring tool designed for durability and ease of use. Its compact, ergonomic bi-material case provides enhanced grip and comfort. 2. Configuració
The STANLEY FATMAX Autolock Tape is ready for immediate use out of the box. No assembly is required for the main unit. However, the product includes interchangeable hooks that can be attached or detached based on your measurement needs.
2.1 Attaching/Detaching Interchangeable Hooks
The tape measure comes with a standard hook and additional magnetic and XL hooks. These can be swapped to suit different measuring scenarios.
- To attach a hook: Align the hook with the end of the tape blade and slide it into place until it clicks securely.
- To detach a hook: Gently press the release mechanism (if present) or slide the hook off the end of the blade.

3. Instruccions de funcionament
3.1 Extending the Blade
To extend the blade, simply pull the tape out from the casing. The Autolock mechanism will automatically engage, holding the blade at the desired length without needing to press a separate lock button. This allows for easy one-handed operation.

3.2 Retracting the Blade
To retract the blade, locate the large button on the top of the tape measure casing. Press and hold this button to disengage the Autolock mechanism, allowing the blade to smoothly retract back into the case. Release the button to stop retraction at any point.

3.3 Using the Tru-Zero End Hook
The Tru-Zero end hook is designed to provide accurate measurements for both inside and outside dimensions. When measuring an outside dimension (hooking the tape onto an edge), the hook will extend slightly to account for its own thickness. When measuring an inside dimension (butting the tape against a surface), the hook will retract to ensure the measurement starts precisely from the inside edge of the hook. Always ensure the hook is flush against the surface for accurate readings.

4. Manteniment
Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and accuracy of your STANLEY FATMAX Autolock Tape.
- Neteja: Netegeu la fulla i casing with a clean, dry cloth after each use, especially if exposed to dust, dirt, or moisture. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Emmagatzematge: Store the tape measure in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Cura de la fulla: The Mylar and Blade Armor coatings provide excellent protection, but avoid kinking or bending the blade sharply, as this can damage the coating and affect accuracy.
- Inspecció del ganxo: Periodically check the end hook for any damage or bending, as this can impact measurement accuracy.
5. Solució De Problemes

- Blade does not retract smoothly:
Ensure the retraction button is fully depressed. Check for any debris or obstructions in the blade opening. If the issue persists, the internal spring mechanism may be worn. This is typically not user-serviceable.
- Autolock mechanism slips or does not hold:
This can sometimes occur with heavy use or if the internal mechanism accumulates dust. Try to gently clean the blade and the opening. If the issue persists, the internal locking mechanism may be worn. This is not user-serviceable.
- End hook is loose or detached:
Ensure the hook is properly seated and clicked into place. If it frequently detaches, inspect the attachment point for wear or damage. If the hook is lost, replacement hooks may be available from STANLEY customer service.
- Mesures inexactes:
Verify that the Tru-Zero end hook is functioning correctly (moving freely for inside/outside measurements). Ensure the blade is not bent or damaged. Compare measurements with a known accurate standard if possible.
