1. Introducció

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Yale B1L Keypad Deadbolt. This key-free smart lock offers convenient access control through a backlit keypad and can be integrated with smart home systems for enhanced security and management. 3. Guia d'instal·lació

Before beginning, ensure your door is prepped according to the specifications provided in the door marking template. The cross bore hole should be 2-1/8 inches in diameter, the edge bore hole 1 inch in diameter, and the backset should be either 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inches.

3.1. Installing the Latch and Strike Plate

1. The Yale B1L Keypad Deadbolt comes with an adjustable latch. Ensure the latch is in the retracted, unlocked position before adjusting.
2. Slide the latch into the door, ensuring the "UP" arrow faces upwards.
3. Verify that the horizontal rectangular hole in the latch is centered exactly in the door's cross bore hole.
4. Insert the two wood screws and tighten them to secure the latch.
5. Install the strike plate on the door frame using the two provided wood screws.

3.2. Installing the Exterior Keypad Lock

1. Position the exterior keypad assembly so it sits flush on the outside of your door.
2. Guide the cable from the exterior assembly under the latch.
3. Ensure the tailpiece slides into the horizontal rectangular hole in the latch.

3.3. Installing the Interior Mounting Plate

1. Remove the battery cover and the interior mounting bracket from the interior lock assembly.
2. Guide the cable from the exterior assembly through the hole in the interior mounting bracket.
3. Guide the lip of the mounting bracket into the exterior lock cutout. Ensure it sits flush to the door and does not pinch the cable.
4. While holding the exterior assembly and mounting bracket straight, insert the two long through bolts and tighten them. Do not overtighten.

3.4. Attaching the Cable Assembly and Interior Lock

1. Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the adapter located on the interior lock assembly. Ensure the two ridges on the cable are facing outwards.
2. Sit the cable under the cable hook on the interior lock assembly.
3. Move the cable out of the way and insert the tailpiece into the thumb turn shaft on the interior lock assembly. The tailpiece should be in the horizontal, unlocked position.
4. Adjust the cable so the interior lock assembly can sit flush against the door.
5. Insert two small black screws into the provided holes in the battery compartment and tighten.
6. Place the third screw in the hole at the bottom of the lock, under the thumb turn, and tighten.

3.5. Prova de funcionament

1. Test the lock by rotating the thumb turn several times with the door open, then several times with the door closed. The thumb turn should rotate smoothly without needing to push, pull, or lift the door.
2. Test the lock operation from the outside using one of the two provided keys. Leave the latch in the unlocked position.

4.1. Setting Your Master PIN Code

The Master PIN Code is essential for programming and managing your lock. It must be 4 to 8 digits long.

1. Touch the lock keypad with three fingers to wake it.

4.2. Handing the Lock

After creating the Master PIN Code, the lock needs to learn which way to extend the bolt for your door:

• Press any key on the keypad to initiate the handing process. The lock will automatically extend and retract the deadbolt to determine the door's orientation.

4.3. Creating Entry Codes (via Yale Access App)

You can create unique entry codes for family and trusted guests using the Yale Access App. This feature allows for flexible access management.

1. Open the Yale Access App on your smartphone.
2. Navegueu fins a Guest List tab, located on the bottom menu.
3. To assign an entry code to yourself, tap on your name in the Owner List. An entry code will be assigned, which you can change at any time.
4. To invite a guest, tap the Convidar icona.
5. Trieu entre Accés a l'aplicació (guest can use the Yale Access App) or Entry Code Only (guest receives a code via text, no app download needed).
6. Si es tria Accés a l'aplicació, you can add a guest manually or import from your contact list. Set their access level to Convidat.
7. Set the access schedule to Sempre, Recurrent, o Temporal.
8. Toqueu Envia invitació. The guest will receive a text with instructions to download the app or the entry code directly.
9. Si es tria Entry Code Only, enter the guest's name, choose the access level (Always, Temporary, or Recurring), create a code, and save. You will then have the option to text the number to your guest.

5. Manteniment

5.1. Substitució de la bateria

The lock is powered by four (4) AA batteries. A low battery indicator will alert you when replacement is needed. In case of complete battery failure, a 9V battery can be used for temporary power to enter your code.

1. Remove the battery cover from the interior lock assembly.

4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw at the top.
