- Register Your Key: It is highly recommended to register your XPlus Code Card with ABUS. This allows for secure key replacement should you lose your original keys. Keep the code card in a safe place, separate from your keys.
- Prova el bloqueig: Before securing your valuable, insert a key into the lock cylinder and turn it to ensure smooth operation. The lock should open and close without excessive force.
- Mounting the Bracket (Optional): If your lock includes the USH 540 bracket, attach it to your bicycle frame according to the bracket's specific instructions. This provides a secure and rattle-free transport solution for your U-lock.

- Position the U-lock around the object you wish to secure (e.g., bicycle frame and a fixed object).
- Align the shackle ends with the openings in the lock body.
- Push the shackle firmly into the lock body until it clicks into place. The lock is now engaged.

- Insert the key fully into the lock cylinder.
- Turn the key clockwise (or counter-clockwise, depending on the lock's orientation) until the shackle releases from the lock body.
- Pull the shackle completely out of the lock body.

- Lubricació: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months, or more frequently in harsh environments), apply a small amount of non-greasy lock lubricant (e.g., ABUS lock spray or graphite-based lubricant) into the keyway and where the shackle enters the lock body. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt.
