1. Introducció

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Krups EA 810B Fully Automatic Espresso Machine. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and keep this manual for future reference.

2. Instruccions de seguretat

• Always ensure the machine is connected to a grounded power outlet with the correct voltage (230 V).
• Do not immerse the machine, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
• Keep hands and fingers away from moving parts, especially the grinder, during operation.

• Tremuja de mongetes: Situat a la part superior, per a grans de cafè sencers.

4. Configuració

4.1 Desembalatge

4.2 Neteja inicial

4.3 Omplir el dipòsit d'aigua

• Traieu el dipòsit d’aigua de la màquina.
• Fill it with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX level indicator.
• Torneu a col·locar el dipòsit d'aigua de manera segura a la màquina.

4.4 Afegir grans de cafè

• Obriu la tapa de la tremuja de mongetes.
• Pour whole roasted coffee beans into the hopper. Do not use ground coffee, instant coffee, or caramelized beans.
• Tanqueu la tapa amb seguretat.

4.5 Primer ús / Imprimació

Before making your first coffee, the machine needs to be primed:

1. Connecteu la màquina a una presa de corrent.
2. Place a container under the coffee spouts and steam nozzle.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts or indicator lights for the priming cycle. This typically involves dispensing hot water through the coffee spouts and steam nozzle to fill the internal circuits.
4. Once the cycle is complete, the machine is ready for use.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 Encesa/apagada

• Premeu el botó d'engegada (U) to turn the machine on or off.
• The machine will perform an automatic rinse cycle upon startup.

5.2 Ajust de la configuració de la mòlta

• The grind fineness can be adjusted using the dial inside the bean hopper (see Figure 3.3).
• Ajusteu la mòlta només quan el molinet estigui en funcionament.
• Finer grind for stronger espresso, coarser grind for lighter coffee.

1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the bean hopper contains beans.
2. Col·loqueu una o dues tasses sota els brocs del cafè.
3. Use the central dial to select the desired coffee volume (e.g., 20ml for espresso, up to 220ml for a long coffee).
4. Press the single cup or double cup button to start brewing.

5.4 Using the Steam Nozzle for Milk Frothing

1. Fill a pitcher with cold milk (preferably semi-skimmed or whole milk).
2. Position the steam nozzle into the milk, just below the surface.
3. Press the steam button (often indicated by a steam icon).

5. Once desired foam is achieved, press the steam button again to stop.
6. Immediately clean the steam nozzle after use to prevent milk residue from drying.

6. Manteniment

6.1 Neteja diària

• Safata de degoteig i contenidor de cafè mòlt: Buideu i esbandiu diàriament. La màquina indicarà quan cal buidar el contenidor de mòlt.

• Broquet de vapor: After each use, wipe the nozzle with a damp cloth. If clogged, use a small pin to clear the opening.

6.2 Descaling (CALC Indicator)

The machine will indicate when descaling is required (CALC light). Descaling removes mineral buildup and is crucial for machine performance.

1. Buidar la safata de goteig i el contenidor dels posos de cafè.
2. Fill the water tank with fresh water and add a suitable descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
3. Place a large container (at least 1 liter) under the coffee spouts and steam nozzle.
4. Follow the machine's instructions (refer to the specific descaling program in your full manual if available) to initiate the descaling cycle. This typically involves pressing and holding a button or following indicator light sequences.
5. The machine will dispense the descaling solution in stages.
6. After the descaling solution is used, rinse the water tank thoroughly and refill with fresh water.
7. Run a rinse cycle with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.

6.3 Cleaning Cycle (CLEAN Indicator)

The CLEAN indicator signals that the machine requires a cleaning tablet cycle to remove coffee oil residues.

1. Place a Krups cleaning tablet into the designated slot (refer to your machine's specific design for the tablet slot, often near the bean hopper or brew unit access).
