3. Components

Familiarize yourself with the main components of your Truper DECA-25 drain cleaner:

• Polypropylene Drum Housing: The main body that stores the 25 ft nylon core cable.
• Handle/Knob: Used to rotate the cable and feed it into the drain.
• Quick-Release Lock: Mechanism to secure or release the cable for extension or retraction.
• Spiral Tip: The working end of the cable designed to break up and retrieve clogs.

4. Configuració

1. Unroll the Cable: Loosen the quick-release lock and pull out a few feet of the drain cleaner cable from the drum housing.
2. Insert into Drain: Carefully insert the spiral tip of the cable into the drain opening. Push it down until it meets resistance, indicating the clog.
3. Engage the Lock: Once the tip reaches the clog, tighten the quick-release lock to secure the cable in place, allowing you to apply torque.
4. Rotate and Push: Turn the handle clockwise while simultaneously pushing the cable further into the drain. This action helps the spiral tip to bore through or hook onto the clog.
5. Avança el cable: If the cable stops advancing, loosen the quick-release lock, pull out more cable, re-tighten the lock, and repeat the rotation and pushing motion. Continue this process until the clog is broken up or retrieved.

6. Manteniment

• Neteja: After each use, thoroughly clean the entire length of the cable and the spiral tip. Use a stiff brush and warm, soapy water to remove all debris and residue.

  • The clog may be very dense. Apply more pressure while rotating, or try pulling back slightly and re-advancing.
  • The cable might be hitting a bend in the pipe. Gently rotate and push to navigate the bend.
• Clog not clearing:
  • Ensure the cable has reached the clog. You may need to extend more cable.
  • Increase rotation and pushing force.
  • The clog might be too large or too far for this tool. Consider professional assistance for severe blockages.
• Cable gets stuck:
  • Do not force the cable. Gently rotate it counter-clockwise while pulling back to free it.
  • If it's severely stuck, try to rotate it clockwise again to break up whatever it's caught on, then pull back.
