Configuració

Setting up your Seagate Expansion Portable Drive is a straightforward process. No software installation is required for Windows operating systems.

Connexió de la unitat

  1. Locate an available USB port on your computer. For optimal performance, use a USB 3.0 port.
  2. Connect the small end of the included USB 3.0 cable to the USB port on the Seagate Expansion Portable Drive.
  3. Connect the larger end of the USB 3.0 cable to a USB port on your computer.
  4. The drive will be automatically recognized by your Windows operating system. A new drive letter will appear in 'This PC' (or 'My Computer').

Nota per a usuaris de Mac: While the drive is compatible with Mac, it may require reformatting for full functionality and optimal performance with macOS. Reformatting will erase all data on the drive, so ensure it is empty or back up any data before proceeding.

Instruccions de funcionament

Transferència Files

  1. Open 'This PC' (Windows) or 'Finder' (Mac) and locate the Seagate Expansion drive.
  2. Arrossegueu i deixeu anar files or folders from your computer to the Seagate Expansion drive, or vice versa.
  3. Alternatively, copy and paste files by right-clicking the desired file/folder and selecting 'Copy', then navigating to the destination and selecting 'Paste'.

Extracció segura de la unitat

To prevent data corruption, always safely remove the drive before disconnecting it from your computer.

  • Windows: Click the 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' icon in the system tray, then select the Seagate Expansion drive. Wait for the 'Safe to Remove Hardware' message before disconnecting.
  • Mac: Drag the drive icon from the desktop to the Trash, or right-click the drive icon and select 'Eject'. Wait for the icon to disappear before disconnecting.

Manteniment

  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the drive to physical shocks, as this can damage internal components.
  • Do not open the drive enclosure. Opening the enclosure voids the warranty and may damage the drive.
