4. Configuració

4.1. Instal·lació de la bateria

The SINGER Stitch Sew Quick 2 requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Ensure the device is in the OFF position before installing batteries.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the machine.

4.2. Initial Run

When operating the device for the first time, run it for 10 seconds, then pause for 5 seconds. After this initial cycle, it can be used regularly.

5.1. Costura bàsica

The Stitch Sew Quick 2 uses two threads to form a permanent lock stitch, similar to a standard sewing machine.

1. Lift the presser foot and raise the needle by turning the handwheel towards the back of the machine.
2. Ensure both thread ends are pulled approximately 4 inches behind the needle.

5.2. Control de velocitat

To adjust the sewing speed:

• Press the speed button once for a faster speed.
• Press it again to return to normal speed.

Proper thread tension is crucial for a good stitch. Adjust the thread tension dial as follows:

• If the upper tension is too tight (upper thread lies straight along the fabric surface), turn the tension dial en sentit antihorari afluixar.

5.4. Finishing a Seam

When you have completed your sewing:

6.1. Changing the Needle

7. Enrotllament de la bobina

To wind a new bobbin:

1. Either slide open the bobbin case cover and remove the empty bobbin, or obtain an empty Class 15 metal bobbin.
2. Insert the bobbin pin into the hole on the top of the machine.
3. Place the empty bobbin onto the bobbin pin.
4. Ensure the thread from the spool to the bobbin is routed through thread guide 1 and the thread tension dial.
5. Pass the thread through the small hole of the bobbin from the inside, pulling about 3 inches of thread through the hole.
6. Hold the thread end tightly.
7. Press down the power button to start winding.
8. Stop after a few coils are wound. Cut the thread end on the top of the bobbin close to the bobbin.
9. Continue winding until the desired amount of thread is wound.
10. Cut the thread 4 inches from the bobbin.
11. Remove the wound bobbin from the bobbin pin.

8. Bobbin Placement

When the bottom bobbin thread is used up or you wish to change thread color:

1. Pull the bobbin cover to the left and remove it.
2. Remove the used bottom bobbin from the bobbin case.
3. Ensure the thread on the bobbin being inserted unwinds in a clockwise direction, as marked on the bobbin case.
4. Place the new bobbin into the compartment with about 3 inches of thread left hanging out.
5. To catch the bobbin thread, raise the presser foot by pulling up the presser foot lifter.
6. Hold the top thread and turn the handwheel towards the back of the machine to make the needle go down and back up.
7. You will see a loop formed by the bobbin thread. Pull the loop to find the end of the bobbin thread.
8. Pull the ends of both threads to the back of the machine.
9. Slide the bobbin case cover back into place.

To thread the SINGER Stitch Sew Quick 2:

1. Ensure the upper bobbin or spool with thread unwinds in a clockwise direction.
2. Pull the thread from the bobbin/spool through thread guide 1.
3. Slip the thread in between the two discs of the thread tension dial.
4. Pull the thread through thread guide 2 (from back to front).
5. Thread the take-up lever (from back to front).
6. Thread guide 3 (from front to back).
7. Thread guide 4 (down).

9. Pass the needle threader through the eye of the needle (from left to right).
10. Pass the thread through the eye of the needle threader.
11. Pull the needle threader with the inserted thread through the eye of the needle (from right to left).
12. Remove the needle threader.
