1. Introducció
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of the Schneider Electric Acti9 IC60N Circuit Breaker, model A9F74220. Please read this manual thoroughly before proceeding with any installation or operation procedures.
The Acti9 IC60N is a 2-pole, 20A miniature circuit breaker with a C-type tripping curve, designed for 50/60 Hz electrical systems. It is manufactured in France and is known for its ease of handling and high quality.
2. Informació de seguretat
WARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel only. Disconnect all power before working on the circuit breaker or associated wiring.
- Seguiu sempre els codis i les regulacions elèctriques locals i nacionals.
- Ensure the power supply is completely disconnected and locked out before installation or servicing.
- Utilitzeu l'equip de protecció individual (EPI) adequat, com ara guants aïllants i ulleres de seguretat.
- Verifiqueu els valors nominals de l'interruptor (vol.tage, current, tripping curve) match the application requirements.
- No feu funcionar l'interruptor si sembla que està danyat.
3. Configuració i instal·lació
The Schneider Electric Acti9 IC60N Circuit Breaker is designed for DIN rail mounting.
3.1. Desembalatge
Carefully remove the circuit breaker from its packaging. Inspect the device for any signs of damage during transit. If damage is observed, do not install the unit and contact your supplier.
3.2. Muntatge
- Ensure the DIN rail is securely installed within the electrical enclosure.
- Position the circuit breaker on the DIN rail.
- Press down firmly on the top of the circuit breaker and snap it onto the DIN rail. Ensure it is seated correctly and cannot be easily dislodged.

3.3. Cablatge
Before wiring, confirm that all power is OFF. The IC60N is a 2-pole device, meaning it interrupts both the phase and neutral conductors (or two phases in a multi-phase system).
- Connect the incoming power supply wires to the top terminals of the circuit breaker.
- Connect the load wires to the bottom terminals of the circuit breaker.
- Ensure all connections are tight. The recommended torque for terminal screws is 2 N.m (Newton-meters).
- Verify correct polarity and phase connections according to your electrical system's requirements.

4. Instruccions de funcionament
4.1. Turning On the Circuit
Once installation and wiring are complete and verified, restore power to the circuit. To turn on the circuit breaker, push the toggle switch to the "ON" (upward) position.

Figura 4: Frontal view of the circuit breaker in the "ON" position, indicated by the green window.
4.2. Turning Off the Circuit
To turn off the circuit manually, push the toggle switch to the "OFF" (downward) position.
4.3. Tripping
In the event of an overload or short circuit, the circuit breaker will automatically trip to the middle position. This indicates a fault condition. To reset a tripped circuit breaker:
- First, identify and rectify the cause of the overload or short circuit.
- Push the toggle switch fully to the "OFF" position.
- Then, push the toggle switch to the "ON" position to restore power.
- If the circuit breaker trips again immediately, do not attempt to reset it repeatedly. Consult a qualified electrician.
5. Manteniment
The Schneider Electric Acti9 IC60N Circuit Breaker is generally maintenance-free under normal operating conditions. However, periodic inspections are recommended.
- Inspecció visual: Periodically check the circuit breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Neteja: If necessary, gently clean the exterior of the circuit breaker with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Prova: Regular functional testing of circuit breakers should be performed by qualified personnel according to industry standards and local regulations.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to open or repair the circuit breaker. Internal components are not user-serviceable.
6. Solució De Problemes
| Problema | Causa possible | Solució |
|---|---|---|
| L'interruptor automàtic salta amb freqüència. | Sobrecàrrega al circuit, curtcircuit o fallada a terra. |
|
| L'interruptor automàtic no es reinicia. | Persistent fault on the circuit, internal damage to the breaker. |
|
| No power to the circuit, but the breaker is ON. | Loose wiring connection, fault upstream of the breaker, or internal breaker failure. |
