6. Manteniment
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your MSR TrailShot filter.
6.1. Field Cleaning (Backflushing)
To restore flow rate in the field, perform a backflush:
- Remove the intake hose from the filter body.
- Fill the filter body with clean water (filtered water is ideal).
- Close the drink spout cap.
- Shake the filter vigorously.
- Open the drink spout cap and squeeze the filter body to force water back through the filter, expelling trapped contaminants. Repeat as needed until flow improves.
6.2. Emmagatzematge a llarg termini
For long-term storage, ensure the filter is thoroughly cleaned and completely dry to prevent mold or bacterial growth. Follow the field cleaning steps, then allow all components to air dry completely before reassembling and storing in a cool, dry place.
7. Solució De Problemes
Slow Flow Rate: If the flow rate significantly decreases, it indicates that the filter is becoming clogged with particulate matter. Perform a backflush as described in the Maintenance section (6.1). If the issue persists, repeat the backflush or consider a more thorough cleaning if possible.
Sense flux d'aigua: Check if the intake hose is kinked or blocked. Ensure the pre-filter is not completely submerged in mud or heavy sediment. If the filter has been frozen, it may be permanently damaged and should be replaced.
Gust/olor de l'aigua: The TrailShot is designed to remove physical contaminants. If water still has an undesirable taste or odor, it may be due to dissolved chemicals or minerals that the filter is not designed to remove. Seek an alternative water source.
