4. Configuració inicial

4.1 Desembalatge

4.2 Neteja del primer ús

Before using your kettle for the first time, it is recommended to clean it:

1. Fill the kettle with cold water up to the MAX level.
2. Boil the water at 100°C (see Operating Instructions below).

4. Repeat this process two to three times to ensure the kettle is thoroughly clean.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 Omplir la tetera

• Press the lid opening button to activate the soft opening system.
• Fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh cold water. Observe the water level indicator to ensure the water is between the MIN (0.5L) and MAX (1.7L) marks.

5.3 Selecting Temperature and Heating

The SMEG KLF04WHEU offers 7 temperature settings:

• 80 °C: Recommended for oolong teas.
• 90 °C: Good for coffee and instant beverages.
• 95 °C: For black teas and herbal infusions.
• 100 °C: For boiling water, suitable for most teas, instant noodles, etc.

1. Use the temperature selection buttons on the base to choose your desired temperature. The corresponding LED indicator will light up.
2. Press the illuminated power button (lever) to start the heating cycle. An audible signal will indicate the start of the cycle.
3. The kettle will automatically shut off once the selected temperature is reached, accompanied by an audible signal.

5.4 Funció Mantenir Calent

The kettle features a 'Keep Warm' function to maintain the selected temperature for a period.

• After selecting your desired temperature and starting the heating cycle, activate the 'Keep Warm' function (refer to specific button on your model, usually indicated by a dedicated button or a long press of the power button).
• The kettle will maintain the water at the chosen temperature for up to 20 minutes.

6.2 Limescale Filter Cleaning

The removable stainless steel limescale filter should be cleaned regularly, especially in hard water areas.

1. Ensure the kettle is cool and unplugged.
2. Open the lid and carefully remove the filter from its position inside the spout.
3. Rinse the filter under running water and gently brush away any limescale deposits.
4. For stubborn deposits, soak the filter in a descaling solution (see 6.3 Descaling).
5. Reinsert the clean filter securely into the spout.

6.3 Descalcificació

Limescale can build up inside the kettle, affecting performance and taste. Descale your kettle regularly (monthly or more often depending on water hardness).

• Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for kettles, following the manufacturer's instructions.
• Alternatively, you can use a solution of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
• Fill the kettle with the descaling solution up to the MAX level.
• Boil the solution (at 100°C) and let it stand for the recommended time (usually 15-30 minutes, or as per descaler instructions).
• Discard the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times with fresh water to remove any residue or vinegar smell.
• Boil fresh water once or twice and discard before using the kettle for beverages.
