4. Configuració i instal·lació
Eines necessàries (no incloses):
- Clau dinamométrica
- Socket set (appropriate sizes for motorcycle frame bolts)
- Hex key set (if applicable)
- Thread-locking compound (medium strength, recommended)
Passos d'instal·lació:
- Preparació de la motocicleta: Park the motorcycle on a level, stable surface. Ensure the engine is cool. For best access, it may be necessary to remove fairings or other components. Refer to your motorcycle's service manual for specific instructions on fairing removal.
- Identificar els punts de muntatge: Locate the designated mounting points on the motorcycle frame. These are typically existing engine mount bolts or specific frame points designed for accessories. The Puig instruction sheet will provide precise locations.
- Remove Original Bolts (One Side at a Time): Carefully remove the original frame bolt from one side only. Work on one side completely before moving to the other to maintain engine alignment.
- Install Crash Pad: Assemble the Puig R12 Crash Pad with the provided mounting hardware (bolts, washers, spacers) as indicated in the Puig instruction sheet. Apply a small amount of medium-strength thread-locking compound to the threads of the new mounting bolt.
- Secure Crash Pad: Insert the assembled crash pad and bolt into the frame mounting point. Hand-tighten the bolt to ensure proper alignment.
- Parell d'apretament segons les especificacions: Using a torque wrench, tighten the mounting bolt to the torque specification provided in the Puig instruction sheet or your motorcycle's service manual. No apretar massa.
- Repetiu per a l'altre costat: Once the first crash pad is securely installed, repeat steps 3-6 for the opposite side of the motorcycle.
- Inspecció final: Double-check that both crash pads are securely fastened and that all removed fairings or components are reinstalled correctly. Ensure there is no interference with other motorcycle parts.
5. Funcionament
Puig R12 Crash Pads are passive protection devices. Once correctly installed, they require no active operation. Their function is to absorb impact and reduce damage to the motorcycle's frame and engine in the event of a fall or slide. Always ride responsibly and within your limits.
6. Manteniment
- Inspecció periòdica: Periodically check the crash pads and their mounting bolts for any signs of damage, cracks, or loosening. This should be done as part of your regular motorcycle maintenance routine.
- Neteja: Clean the crash pads with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the material.
- Post-Incident Check: After any incident involving a fall or slide, thoroughly inspect the crash pads and their mounting points. Even if they appear undamaged, their structural integrity may be compromised. It is recommended to replace crash pads after any significant impact.
7. Solució De Problemes
- Crash Pad Feels Loose: If a crash pad feels loose, immediately stop riding. Re-tighten the mounting bolt to the specified torque. If it continues to loosen, inspect the threads of the bolt and the frame for damage.
- Vibracions inusuals: If you experience new or unusual vibrations after installation, re-check all mounting points and ensure no components are interfering with the motorcycle's moving parts.
- Dificultat d'instal·lació: If you encounter significant difficulty during installation, double-check that you have the correct model for your motorcycle and that you are following the instructions precisely. Do not force components.
