OBD2 Scanner, WiFi Car Code Reader Check Engine Light Diagnostic Scan Tool

1. Introducció

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Foseal OBD2 WiFi Car Code Reader. This device allows you to diagnose vehicle issues by reading and clearing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), monitoring real-time sensor data, and checking the status of your vehicle's engine light directly from your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet via a WiFi connection.

4. Configuració

4.1 Connexió física

1. Locate your vehicle's OBD2 port. This port is typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side, often near the steering column. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual if you have difficulty locating it.
2. With the vehicle's ignition off, firmly plug the Foseal OBD2 WiFi Scanner into the OBD2 port. Ensure it is securely seated.
3. Turn the vehicle's ignition to the 'ON' position (do not start the engine). The device's indicator lights should illuminate, indicating it is receiving power.

4.3 Connexió WiFi

1. On your smartphone or tablet, go to your device's WiFi settings.
2. Look for a WiFi network named similar to "WiFi_OBDII" or "V-LINK". Select this network.
3. If prompted for a password, refer to the app's instructions or the device's packaging (common passwords include "1234" or "0000").
4. Once connected to the device's WiFi network, open your chosen OBD2 application.
5. Within the app's settings, navigate to the 'Adapter Settings' or 'Connection Settings' and ensure that 'WiFi' is selected as the connection type.
6. The app should now attempt to connect to the Foseal device. Wait approximately 10 seconds for the connection to establish.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

Once the Foseal device is connected to your vehicle and your app, you can begin diagnostics.

5.1 Lectura de codis de diagnòstic d'errors (DTC)

1. In your OBD2 app, look for a section labeled 'Read Codes', 'DTCs', or 'Diagnostics'.
2. Initiate the scan. The app will communicate with your vehicle's onboard computer to retrieve any stored trouble codes.
3. The app will display the codes (e.g., P0420) along with a description of the potential issue.

Warning: Clearing codes without addressing the underlying issue will cause the check engine light to reappear. Only clear codes after necessary repairs have been made.

1. After reading codes, locate the 'Clear Codes', 'Reset MIL', or 'Clear DTCs' option within your app.
2. Confirm the action when prompted. This will turn off the Check Engine Light (Malfunction Indicator Lamp - MIL) and clear stored diagnostic information.

5.3 Monitoring Real-time Data

Most OBD2 apps allow you to view live sensor data from your vehicle. This can include:

6. Compatibilitat

The Foseal OBD2 WiFi Scanner is compatible with:

• Most model year 1996 and newer vehicles sold in the United States (excluding vehicles with 24V voltagsistemes electrònics).
• Supported OBD2 Protocols: ISO15765-4 (CAN), ISO14230-4 (KWP2000), ISO9141-2, J1850 VPW, J1850 PWM.
• Sistemes operatius: iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android devices.

No compatible: This device does NOT support trucks, semi-trailers, dump trucks, tractors, hybrids, electric vehicles, or other commercial vehicles.

Nota: This device cannot read ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), SRS (Supplemental Restraint System), or TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) codes.

• Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.

8. Solució De Problemes

8.1 Device Not Connecting / No Power

• Ensure the device is firmly plugged into the vehicle's OBD2 port.
• Verify the vehicle's ignition is in the 'ON' position (engine does not need to be running, but power must be supplied to the OBD2 port).
• Check your smartphone/tablet's WiFi settings to ensure it is connected to the device's WiFi network.
• Confirm that 'WiFi' is selected as the connection type within your OBD2 app's settings.

8.2 App Shows No Data or Cannot Read Codes

• Ensure the device is properly connected via WiFi as described in Section 4.3.
• Verify your vehicle's compatibility (refer to Section 6).
• Some apps may require specific settings or permissions. Consult the app's documentation.
• The device cannot read ABS/SRS/TPMS codes. If you are trying to diagnose these systems, a different tool is required.
• If the vehicle has no active or pending trouble codes, the app will report a 'clean bill of health'. This is normal if no issues are present.
