4. Configuració i preparació

1. Preparació de la superfície: Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, paint, or other contaminants. Abrading surfaces can improve adhesion for certain substrates.
2. Recollida d'eines: Have all necessary tools ready, including a compatible dispensing gun (if using a Duo-Pak cartridge), mixing nozzles, safety gloves, and eye protection.
3. Ventilació: Work in a well-ventilated area or use local exhaust ventilation to minimize exposure to vapors.
4. Temperatura: For optimal performance, ensure the adhesive and substrates are at room temperature (20-25°C / 68-77°F) before use.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

1. Load Cartridge: Insert the Duo-Pak cartridge into the appropriate 3M Scotch-Weld EPX applicator gun.
2. Purge Adhesive: Before attaching a mixing nozzle, dispense a small amount of adhesive (approximately a bead 1-2 inches long) to ensure both parts are flowing evenly and to clear any air pockets. Wipe off the purged material.
3. Attach Mixing Nozzle: Securely attach a 3M Scotch-Weld EPX mixing nozzle to the cartridge.
4. Dispense and Apply: Dispense the mixed adhesive directly onto one of the prepared bonding surfaces. The mixing nozzle ensures proper ratio and thorough mixing of the two components.
5. Muntar peces: Join the parts to be bonded immediately after applying the adhesive, within the 5-minute work life. Apply sufficient pressure to ensure good contact between the surfaces and the adhesive.
6. Curat: Allow the bonded assembly to remain undisturbed during the curing process. Handling strength is typically achieved in approximately 20 minutes at room temperature. Full cure time may vary depending on temperature and bond line thickness.

6. Manteniment

• Emmagatzematge: Store unused adhesive cartridges in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Recommended storage temperature is 18-27°C (65-80°F).
• Cleanup (Uncured Adhesive): Clean tools and uncured adhesive immediately after use with an appropriate solvent, such as isopropyl alcohol or a commercial adhesive remover, before the adhesive cures.
• Cleanup (Cured Adhesive): Cured adhesive is difficult to remove and may require mechanical abrasion or specialized chemical removers. Always test removers on an inconspicuous area first.

  • Lower temperatures will extend cure times. Ensure adhesive and substrates are at recommended room temperature.
  • Verify correct mixing ratio. Improper mixing can lead to incomplete curing.
• Adhesive Not Dispensing Evenly:
  • Ensure the cartridge is properly seated in the dispensing gun.
  • Check for blockages in the nozzle or cartridge outlets.
  • Purge a small amount of adhesive before attaching the mixing nozzle to ensure both components are flowing.
