5. Configuració i instal·lació

5.1 Col·locació recomanada

For optimal protection, install smoke detectors in every sleeping area and on every level of your home, including the basement. For best results, place detectors in the center of the ceiling. Avoid placing detectors near windows, doors, or air vents where drafts might interfere with smoke detection.

• Install at least one smoke detector on each floor, including the basement.
• Install a smoke detector in each bedroom.
• Install a smoke detector in the hallway outside of each sleeping area.
• For sloped ceilings, install the detector within 3 feet (0.9 meters) of the peak but not within the apex of the ceiling.

5.2 Instruccions de muntatge

1. Tria la ubicació: Select a suitable location on the ceiling or wall, away from corners and obstructions.
2. Marca els forats: Feu servir el suport de muntatge com a plantilla per marcar les posicions per perforar els forats.
3. Forats: Drill two holes at the marked positions. Insert the wall anchors if mounting into drywall or plaster.
4. Fixeu el suport: Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling/wall using the provided screws.
5. Activa la bateria: Ensure the 10-year lithium battery is properly activated. For some models, this involves twisting the detector onto the mounting bracket, which activates the battery.
6. Mount Detector: Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it clicks securely into place.

6. Instruccions de funcionament

6.1 Funcionament normal

During normal operation, the LED indicator will flash periodically (e.g., once every 40-60 seconds) to indicate that the unit is powered and functioning correctly.

To test the smoke detector, press and hold the Test/Silence button located on the front of the unit. The alarm will sound loudly (approximately 85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash rapidly. Release the button to stop the alarm. Test the detector weekly to ensure proper operation.

6.3 Silence Function (Hush Mode)

If a non-emergency alarm occurs (e.g., from cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm by pressing the Test/Silence button. The alarm will silence for approximately 8-10 minutes, after which it will automatically reset. If smoke is still present, the alarm will sound again.
