1. Introducció

The AutoPot 4 Pot XL System is a self-watering, gravity-fed hydroponic system designed for efficient and low-maintenance plant cultivation. This system requires no electricity, pumps, or timers, relying solely on gravity and the unique AQUAvalve technology to deliver water and nutrients to your plants as needed. This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your AutoPot system to ensure optimal plant growth.

3. Instruccions de configuració

Follow these steps to correctly assemble your AutoPot 4 Pot XL System:

1. Reservoir Placement: Position the 12.4 Gallon FlexiTank or reservoir at least 6 inches (15 cm) above the highest AQUAvalve. This ensures sufficient gravity pressure for proper water flow.
2. Pot and Tray Assembly: Place a Marix Disc at the bottom of each XL Pot. Then, place a PotSock over the base of each pot to prevent roots from growing into the AQUAvalve. Place each assembled pot into an XL Tray.
3. AQUAvalve Installation: Insert the AQUAvalve5 into the designated slot in each XL Tray. Ensure the valve is securely seated and the float mechanism can move freely.
4. Connecting the Pipework:
   • Drill a hole in the side of your reservoir near the base and insert the 1/4 inch Top Hat Grommet.
   • Connect one end of the 1/4 inch pipe to the Top Hat Grommet inside the reservoir.
   • Run the 1/4 inch pipe from the reservoir to the first AQUAvalve. Use the 1/4 inch Inline Tap to control water flow from the reservoir.
   • Connect the pipe to the AQUAvalve inlet.
   • For multiple pots, use the 1/4 inch Cross Connectors to branch the main pipe to each subsequent AQUAvalve. Refer to the layout diagrams for guidance.
5. Filling the Pots: Fill your XL Pots with your chosen growing medium. A 50/50 mix of coco coir and perlite or a high-quality soil-less mix is recommended. Plant your desired plants.
6. Initial Watering: Hand water your plants from the top for the first few days to establish the root system. Once established, you can open the inline tap to allow the AutoPot system to take over.

4. Funcionament del sistema

The AutoPot system operates on a simple, plant-driven principle:

• The AQUAvalve controls the flow of water and nutrient solution from the reservoir to the XL Trays.
• When the water level in the tray drops, the AQUAvalve opens, refilling the tray to a set level.
• Once the set level is reached, the AQUAvalve closes, allowing the plants to consume all the water and nutrients in the tray before it refills again. This wet/dry cycle encourages robust root development and prevents waterlogging.
• The system is gravity-fed, requiring no electricity, pumps, or timers.

5. Manteniment

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your AutoPot system:

• Reservoir Refilling: Regularly check the water level in your reservoir and refill with fresh nutrient solution as needed. Avoid letting the reservoir run completely dry.
• AQUAvalve Cleaning: Periodically inspect and clean the AQUAvalve. Remove the lid and check for any debris or nutrient buildup that might impede the float mechanism. Rinse with clean water.

  • Check for kinks or blockages in the main pipe.
• Trays Overfilling:
  • The AQUAvalve float mechanism may be stuck or obstructed. Clean the AQUAvalve thoroughly.
  • Ensure the AQUAvalve is correctly seated in the tray.

  • Verify that the main pipe is level and free of kinks, allowing even pressure distribution.
• Plants Showing Nutrient Deficiencies/Excesses:
  • Check the pH and EC/TDS of your nutrient solution. Adjust as necessary.
  • Ensure your growing medium is appropriate and not causing nutrient lock-out.
  • Perform a system flush if nutrient salts are suspected to be building up.
