2. Configuració i instal·lació de la bateria

2.1 Instal·lació de la bateria

The LEAP Digital Chess Timer requires one (1) AA battery for operation. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the chess timer.

3. Funcionament

The LEAP Digital Chess Timer offers various modes and settings to accommodate different game types and preferences. Familiarize yourself with the control buttons:

3.1 Selecting a Pre-programmed Rule

The timer comes with 35 pre-programmed rules. Refer to the label on the underside of the clock (Image 2.1) for a list of these rules and their corresponding numbers.

  1. Ensure the timer is ON.
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button until the display starts flashing, indicating you are in setting mode.
  3. Use the Plus (+) or Minus (-) buttons to cycle through the pre-programmed rule numbers (e.g., 01-35).
  4. Once the desired rule number is displayed, press the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button briefly to confirm the selection and exit setting mode. The timer will display the initial time for the selected rule.

3.2 Customizing Time Settings (User-Programmable)

For custom time controls, you can use the user-programmable setting (usually rule number 99 or similar, refer to Image 2.1).

  1. Enter setting mode by pressing and holding the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button.
  2. Select the user-programmable rule number (e.g., 99).
  3. Press the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button briefly to enter the custom time setting.
  4. The digits for Player 1's time will start flashing. Use the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to adjust the hours, minutes, and seconds. Press Play/Pause (►▮▮) to move to the next digit or segment (e.g., from hours to minutes).
  5. Repeat the process for Player 2's time.
  6. After setting both players' times, you may be prompted to set bonus or delay times if the selected rule supports them. Adjust these similarly using the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons and Play/Pause (►▮▮) to confirm.
  7. Once all settings are configured, press and hold the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button to save and exit setting mode.

3.3 Starting and Pausing a Game

  1. After setting the desired time control, ensure the timer is not in setting mode.
  2. To start the game, press the lever on your side of the clock. This will start the opponent's timer.
  3. To pause the game, press the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button briefly. The display will typically show a pause indicator.
  4. To resume, press the Play/Pause (►▮▮) button again.
