1. Introducció

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of the UEi IRT803 Digital Insulation Resistance Tester. The IRT803 is a versatile instrument designed for measuring insulation resistance, AC/DC voltage, and continuity. It features a 1000V AC/DC measurement capability, auto-ranging, a backlit display, and a DMM rotary style selector. Key functions include Lock, Compare, and Polarization Index (PI)/Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR) tests. 5. Configuració

5.1. Instal·lació de la bateria

The IRT803 requires four (4) AA batteries for operation. To install or replace batteries:

1. Ensure the tester is powered off.
2. Localitzeu el compartiment de la bateria a la part posterior de la unitat.

4. Insert the four AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.

5.2. Connexió dels cables de prova

Connect the test leads to the appropriate input jacks on the tester. For most measurements, the red lead connects to the 'V Ω INSULATION' jack and the black lead connects to the 'COM' (common) jack. Ensure connections are firm and secure.

6. Instruccions de funcionament

6.1. Powering On/Off and Display Backlight

• To power on the unit, rotate the selector dial from 'OFF' to any desired measurement function.
• To power off, rotate the selector dial back to 'OFF'. The unit also features auto power-off to save battery life after a period of inactivity.
• Premeu el botó SELECCIONA button (often indicated by a light bulb icon) to toggle the display backlight on or off.

The IRT803 can perform insulation resistance tests at various voltages.

1. Select Test Voltage: Rotate the selector dial to the desired insulation test voltage (50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V o 1000 V).

7. Read and Record: Observe the reading on the LCD. Use the MANTENIM button to freeze the display for easier recording.

6.3. Voltage Testing (AC/DC)

Per mesurar AC o DC voltage up to 600V:

1. Rotate the selector dial to the 'V' position.
2. Connect the red test lead to the positive or live point and the black test lead to the negative or neutral/ground point of the circuit.
3. The display will show the measured voltage. The meter will automatically detect AC or DC voltage.

6.4. Proves de continuïtat

To check for continuity in a circuit:

1. Rotate the selector dial to the 'Ω' (Ohms) position, which typically includes continuity.
2. Connect the test leads across the component or circuit path you wish to test.
3. If there is continuity (low resistance), the meter will typically emit an audible beep and display a low resistance value.

7. Manteniment

7.1. Neteja

To maintain the accuracy and longevity of your IRT803:

When not in use, store the IRT803 in its soft carrying case in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
