This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Defiant Hartford Aged Bronze Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Project Pack. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation to ensure proper function and safety.

Instruccions d'instal·lació
Follow these steps to install the Defiant Hartford lockset. A Phillips head screwdriver is typically required.
1. Prepara la porta
Ensure your door has the standard bore holes. The lockset is designed for doors with a backset of 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches. The dual backset feature means no adjustment is needed for these common sizes.

2. Instal·leu el pestell
- Insert the latch into the edge bore hole of the door, ensuring the bevel of the latch bolt faces the door frame.
- Secure the latch with the provided screws.
3. Instal·leu el conjunt exterior
- For the deadbolt, insert the exterior cylinder into the upper bore hole.
- For the knob/lever, insert the exterior half into the lower bore hole, ensuring the spindle aligns with the latch mechanism.
4. Instal·leu el conjunt interior
- Align the interior assembly with the exterior assembly and the latch.
- Secure the interior assembly with the provided screws, tightening them evenly.
5. Install the Strike Plates
- Mark the position for the strike plates on the door frame, aligning with the latch bolts.
- Chisel out a shallow recess for each strike plate if necessary, then secure them with screws.

6. Prova de funcionament
After installation, test both the deadbolt and the knob/lever with the key from the exterior and the thumb turn/button from the interior to ensure smooth operation.

Keyed Entry Knob/Lever
- Tancar: From the interior, press the button on the knob/lever. From the exterior, insert the key and turn to lock.
- Per desbloquejar: From the interior, turn the knob/lever. From the exterior, insert the key and turn to unlock.

Manteniment

Resolució de problemes

- Solució: Apply graphite lubricant to the keyway. Check for any debris obstructing the keyway. Ensure the key is not bent or damaged.
- Problem: Latch bolt does not extend or retract smoothly.
- Solució: Check if the strike plate is properly aligned with the latch bolt. Ensure all mounting screws are tightened correctly and not causing binding. Lubricate the latch mechanism if necessary.
- Problem: Door knob/lever is loose.
- Solució: Tighten the mounting screws that secure the interior and exterior assemblies. Refer to installation step 4.
