1. Instruccions de seguretat importants

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance and keep them for future reference. This manual provides important information for the safe installation, use, and maintenance of the Smeg CGF01RDEU Electric Coffee Grinder.

The Smeg CGF01RDEU Electric Coffee Grinder features a painted steel body, durable Tritan™ containers for beans and ground coffee, and a chrome base with non-slip feet. Its design reflects the unique aesthetics of the 1950s.

Components:

• Tremuja de mongetes: Transparent container for whole coffee beans (capacity: 350g).

3. Configuració

1. Desembalatge: Carefully remove the coffee grinder from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
2. Col·locació: Col·loqueu el molinet sobre una superfície estable, plana i seca. Assegureu-vos que hi hagi prou espai al voltant de l'aparell per a la ventilació.
3. Neteja inicial: Before first use, clean all removable parts (bean hopper, ground coffee container, lid) with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. Wipe the main unit with a damp tela.
4. Connexió d'alimentació: Plug the power cord (1m length) into a suitable 220-240V, 50-60Hz grounded electrical outlet. The grinder uses a Type C/EF (Schuko) plug.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

1. Ompliu la tremuja de mongetes: Remove the lid from the bean hopper and pour whole coffee beans into the container. Replace the lid securely. The maximum capacity is 350g.
2. Seleccioneu la mida de la mòlta: Rotate the grind size selector located on the top part of the grinder to choose your desired fineness. Options range from 'Fine' (for espresso) to 'Coarse' (for French press), with 30 available settings.
3. Select Coffee Quantity: Use the control knob/button on the front of the unit to select the desired amount of coffee.
   • For Espresso: Choose between 'Single' or 'Double' shot settings.
   • For Americano/French Press: Select from 6 different quantity settings.
4. Comença a triturar: Press the 'Start/Stop' button in the center of the control knob. The grinder will operate until the selected quantity is ground.
5. Manual Grinding: For continuous grinding, press and hold the 'Start/Stop' button. Release the button to stop grinding.
6. Recollir el cafè mòlt: Once grinding is complete, carefully remove the ground coffee container from its position.

5. Manteniment i Neteja

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee grinder. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.

1. Cleaning the Bean Hopper and Lid: Remove the lid and the bean hopper. Wash them with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before reassembling.
2. Cleaning the Grinding Burrs: The grinder features removable burrs for easy cleaning. Follow these steps:
   • Assegureu-vos que el molinet estigui desendollat.
   • Traieu la tremuja de mongetes.
   • Carefully lift out the upper grinding burr.
   • Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any coffee grounds from both the upper and lower burrs.
   • Reinsert the upper burr and secure the bean hopper.
3. Cleaning the Ground Coffee Container: Empty the container and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

6. Solució De Problemes

If you encounter issues with your Smeg CGF01RDEU coffee grinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• El molinet no arrenca:
  • Assegureu-vos que el cable d'alimentació estigui ben connectat a una presa de corrent.
  • Check that the bean hopper and ground coffee container are correctly positioned and secured. The grinder has safety interlocks that prevent operation if components are not properly installed.
  • Verify that the lid of the bean hopper is closed properly.
• Inconsistent grind or no grinding:
  • The grinding burrs may be clogged with old coffee grounds or oils. Refer to Section 5 for cleaning instructions.
  • Ensure there are enough coffee beans in the hopper.
  • Check for any foreign objects in the bean hopper that might be obstructing the burrs.
• Grinder is unusually loud:
  • This could indicate a foreign object caught in the grinding mechanism. Unplug the unit immediately and inspect the burrs as per cleaning instructions.
  • Ensure the grinder is on a stable, flat surface to minimize vibration.
