The NOYAFA NF-8209 offers a robust set of features for comprehensive network cable testing:

  • Cable Tester: Utilizes digital signal receiving technology to detect PoE voltage, current, power, and PSE standards (at/af standard), while identifying the power supply mode and verifying RJ45 cable integrity.

Configuració i ús inicial

  1. Desembalatge: Carefully remove all components from the packaging and verify against the 'What's in the Box' section.
  2. Instal·lació/càrrega de la bateria: The NF-8209 emitter and receiver units are powered by internal lithium batteries. Before first use, fully charge both units using the provided USB charging cable and a compatible 5V USB power adapter. The display will indicate charging status.
  3. Encès/apagat: Press and hold the power button on both the Emitter and Receiver units to turn them on or off.
  4. Navegació: Use the arrow keys and 'OK' button on the Emitter unit to navigate through menus and select functions.

1. Prova PoE

This function allows you to detect PoE voltage, current, power, and identify PSE standards (at/af) as well as the power supply mode of Power over Ethernet devices.

  1. Connect the network cable from the PoE source (e.g., PoE switch) to the 'PoE' port on the NF-8209 Emitter.
  2. Select 'PoE' mode on the Emitter.
  3. The display will show the PoE type, standard, and voltage.

2. Digital Cable Scanning (Wire Tracing)

This mode helps in tracing and locating specific cables within a bundle or wall. It offers Digital, Analog, and PoE scan modes.

  1. Connect one end of the cable to be traced to the 'SCAN' port on the NF-8209 Emitter.
  2. Select 'SCAN' mode on the Emitter and choose your desired scan mode (Digital, Analog, or PoE).
  3. Turn on the Receiver unit and adjust its sensitivity.
  4. Move the Receiver's probe along the suspected cable path. The Receiver will emit an audible tone when it detects the signal from the Emitter, indicating the target cable.

3. AC Voltage Detecció (NCV)

The Receiver unit features a Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) function to detect live AC voltagi sense contacte directe.

4. Intermitent de ports

This function helps identify the corresponding port on a network switch or hub when a cable is connected to the tester.

  1. Connect the network cable to the 'Length/Flash' port on the NF-8209 Emitter.
  2. Select 'Flash' mode on the Emitter.
  3. Observe the link/activity LEDs on your network switch. The LED corresponding to the connected cable will flash, allowing for easy identification.

5. Cable Length Test

Accurately measure the length of network cables (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a) up to 120 meters.

  1. Connect one end of the cable to be measured to the 'Length/Flash' port on the NF-8209 Emitter. Ensure the other end of the cable is open (not connected to anything).
  2. Select 'Length' mode on the Emitter.
  3. Press 'OK' to start the test. The display will show the measured cable length in meters.

6. Cable Fault Testing (Continuity)

This function tests the physical status of STP and UTP LAN cables, identifying issues like short circuits, open circuits, and crossed wires.

  1. Connect one end of the network cable to the 'CONT' port on the NF-8209 Emitter.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the 'RJ45 WIREMAP' remote unit.
  3. Select 'CONT' mode on the Emitter.
  4. The display will show the wiring sequence and identify any faults (e.g., open, short, cross).

7. Llum LED

The Receiver unit is equipped with an LED light to assist in working in dark environments, such as server racks or behind walls.

Manteniment

  • Emmagatzematge: Store the tester in its carrying pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

  • Continuity Test Errors: Ensure both ends of the cable are securely connected to the 'CONT' port on the Emitter and the 'RJ45 WIREMAP' remote unit, respectively. Inspect the RJ45 connectors for damage.
