This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Monoprice Blackbird 4K 4x4 HDBaseT Matrix. This device allows you to route any of four HDMI input sources to any of four outputs (one local HDMI, three HDBaseT outputs with included receivers). It supports 4K@60Hz video with YCbCr 4:4:4, HDCP 2.2, and extends signals over Cat5e/6 Ethernet cable.

- INPUTS (1-4): Select the desired HDMI input source.

Configuració i instal·lació
- Apaga tots els dispositius: Before making any connections, ensure all source devices, displays, and the matrix are powered off and unplugged.
- Connectar fonts HDMI: Connect your HDMI source devices (e.g., Blu-ray player, media streamer) to the HDMI Input ports (HDMI 1-4) on the matrix using high-quality HDMI cables.
- Connect HDBaseT Receivers:
- Connect each HDBaseT Receiver to an HDBT Output port (HDBT 1-3) on the matrix using a single Cat5e/6 Ethernet cable. Ensure the cable is properly terminated (T568B recommended).
- Connect a display device (e.g., TV, projector) to the HDMI Output port on each HDBaseT Receiver using an HDMI cable.
- Connect Local HDMI Output (Optional): If using, connect a display device to the HDMI Output port on the matrix using an HDMI cable.
- Connect Audio Outputs (Optional): If using, connect your audio receiver or amplifier to the SPDIF or RCA audio output ports on the matrix.
- Connect Control Cables (Optional): If using RS-232 or TCP/IP control, connect the appropriate cables to the matrix.
- Encès:
- Plug the 24VDC power adapter into the POWER port on the matrix, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- Power on all connected display devices.
- Power on all connected HDMI source devices.

The Monoprice Blackbird 4K HDMI Matrix can be controlled via the front panel buttons, the included IR remote control, RS-232, or a Web GUI over TCP/IP.
Control del panell frontal
The front panel features buttons for selecting inputs and outputs. Press an "INPUT" button (1-4) to select the source, then press an "OUTPUT" button (1-4) to route that source to the desired output. Output 4 corresponds to the local HDMI output, while Outputs 1-3 correspond to the HDBaseT outputs.
Comandament a distància IR
Point the IR remote control towards the IR receiver window on the front panel of the matrix. Use the "INPUTS" buttons (1-4) to select the source and the "OUTPUTS" buttons (1-4) to select the destination. The "ALL" button can assign a single input to all outputs simultaneously. Control RS-232
Connect a computer to the RS-232 port on the matrix using the provided cable. Use a serial terminal program (e.g., PuTTY, Tera Term) with the following settings: Baud Rate 9600, Data Bits 8, Stop Bits 1, Parity None, Flow Control None. Refer to the detailed RS-232 command set in the full product manual (available on the Monoprice website) for specific commands.
TCP/IP (Web GUI) Control
Connect the matrix to your network via the TCP/IP port. The default IP address is typically 192.168.1.100. Open a web browser and enter the IP address to access the Web GUI. El Web GUI provides a graphical interface for switching inputs/outputs, managing EDID, and configuring network settings. Gestió EDID
The matrix features a 4-pin DIP switch on the rear panel for EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) management. EDID ensures compatibility between source devices and displays by communicating supported video and audio formats. Adjust the DIP switch settings according to your system's requirements. Refer to the full product manual for a detailed table of EDID DIP switch configurations.
Common EDID Modes:
- Copia EDID: Copies the EDID from a connected display to the source.
- Fixed EDID: Uses a pre-programmed EDID (e.g., 1080p 2ch, 4K 2ch, etc.).
- EDID mixt: Combines EDID information from multiple displays.
Incorrect EDID settings can lead to no video, incorrect resolution, or audio issues. Experiment with different settings if you encounter display problems.
Manteniment
