2. Informació de seguretat
Please observe the following safety guidelines to prevent damage to the unit and ensure safe operation:
- Do not attempt to energize the unit or connect equipment if the Niagara 3000 has been exposed to excessive rain, flooding, fire, or has sustained considerable physical damage. In such cases, the unit should be returned for inspection.
- The Niagara 3000 requires a safety ground for proper operation, which is typically supplied via the power utility AC wall outlet.
- Ensure the unit is connected to an appropriate 15-amp-rated (high-current) AC cord. The AC cord must have an IEC-C13 female-end connector and a grounded male 120VAC Edison/NEMA plug for use in North America or Taiwan.
- The unit features non-sacrificial surge protection, capable of withstanding multiple transient power surges and spikes up to 6000V or 3000A without damage.
- An Over-Voltage Shutdown system is integrated, which will enact shutdown if the AC input levels exceed approximately 17% above optimal, automatically resetting once the voltage returns to a safe range.
3. Producte acabatview
The AudioQuest Niagara 3000 is a sophisticated power noise dissipation system designed to optimize the performance of your audio and video components. Key features include:
- Patented Ground-Noise Dissipation System: Significantly reduces ground-borne noise without compromising safety or creating low-level ground loops.
- Transient Power Correction: Proporciona energia amplifiers with a current reservoir of over 55 amps peak (up to 25mS) for AC current transients, enhancing dynamic performance.
- Tecnologia de dissipació de soroll lineal Level-X: Ensures consistent and wide-bandwidth noise dissipation, avoiding the inconsistent multi-node resonant peaking common in many AC power conditioners.
- AQ-Formed AC RF Filtering Capacitors: Improves linearity and minimizes distortions by effectively dissipating AC line and radio-coupled noise.
- Seven Low-Z NRG Series AC Power Outlets: Includes two High-Current Low-Z Power outlets and five Level-X Linear-Filtered Power outlets for source components.
- Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection: Protects against power surges and spikes without requiring replacement after an event.
- Més de voltage Shutdown with Automatic Reset: Safeguards connected equipment by shutting down if input voltage is too high, then automatically restoring power when safe.
- NRG-Series AC Outlets: Feature beryllium copper and thick Hanging-Silver plating for superior grip, lower resistance, and enhanced noise dissipation at radio frequencies.
- Direction-Controlled Wiring: Utilizes ultra-low-resistance solid wiring and filter inductors optimized for efficient radio frequency noise dissipation.

4. Configuració
4.1 Col·locació
The Niagara 3000 can be placed on any stable surface such as a table, cabinet, shelf, or floor. For rack-mounting, the four threaded feet can be removed using a standard Phillips screwdriver. A rack-mounting kit and instructions are included with the unit. The placement or proximity to other components is not critical, as the Niagara 3000 does not produce significant heat under normal operation.
4.2 Connexió d'alimentació CA
Once the Niagara 3000 is positioned, connect an appropriate 15-amp-rated AC cord to the rear-panel AC inlet (IEC-C14) connector. The AC cord must feature an IEC-C13 female-end connector and a grounded male 120VAC Edison/NEMA plug for use in North America or Taiwan. For optimal performance and Ground-Noise Dissipation, using high-quality AC cords (14AWG or larger) is recommended.
4.3 Connecting Components to Outlets
The Niagara 3000 features seven AC outlets, categorized for different types of components:
- High-Current Low-Z Power Banks (Outlets "1" and "2"): These outlets are designed for power amplificadors, integrats amplifiers, powered receivers, or powered subwoofers. They provide a current reservoir for AC current transients, enhancing dynamic performance.
- Level-X Linear-Filtered Power Outlets (Outlets "3", "4", "5", "6", and "7"): These outlets are for source components such as preamplifiers, DACs, CD players, turntables, and other line-level devices. They utilize Level-X Linear Noise-Dissipation Technology for consistent and wide-bandwidth noise reduction.
Refer to the "Suggested AC Connections" diagram for typical configurations.

Figura 4: Suggested AC connections for various audio components to the Niagara 3000 outlets. Configuration 1 shows a stereo amplifier and various source components. Configuration 2 shows monoblock amplifiers and various source components. Note that power amplifiers should ideally be connected to banks 1 or 2.
4.4 Power Correction Switch
The rear-panel mounted switch for "POWER CORRECTION (1 + ENERGIZED)" must be set to the ENERGIZED/"1" position. This setting is for all line-level, digital, video components, or power amplification that is connected to the Niagara 3000. If the unit is not functioning at full capacity, ensure this switch is in the correct position.
5. Instruccions de funcionament
5.1 Engegada/apagada
After connecting all components and the main AC cord, press the front panel power switch to turn the unit on. The "POWER ON" indicator light will illuminate. To turn off the unit, press the power switch again.
5.2 Extreme Voltage Indicador
The front panel includes an "EXTREME VOLTAGE" indicator. If this indicator illuminates, it signifies that the incoming AC voltage is outside safe operating parameters. The unit's Over-Voltage Shutdown feature will activate to protect connected equipment. Power will be restored automatically once the AC voltage returns to a safe range.
6. Manteniment
The AudioQuest Niagara 3000 requires minimal maintenance. To clean the exterior, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
7. Solució De Problemes
7.1 Unit Not Powering On or Connected Equipment Not Receiving Power
- Verify that the main AC cord is securely connected to both the Niagara 3000 and a functioning wall outlet.
- Check the front panel power switch to ensure it is in the "ON" position.
- Confirm that the "POWER CORRECTION (1 + ENERGIZED)" switch on the rear panel is set to the ENERGIZED/"1" posició.
- If the "EXTREME VOLTAGE" indicator is illuminated, the unit has shut down due to high input voltage. Wait for the voltage to stabilize and the unit to automatically reset.
7.2 Buzzing Sound from the Niagara 3000
A slight buzzing sound from the Niagara 3000 is generally not indicative of damage or a defect. This sound is often related to extremely quiet room conditions or proximity to the unit. It can also be caused by high-level harmonic AC line distortion and its ability to make some of the circuits suffer from mechanical ringing. If the buzzing is noticeable and bothersome, try moving the unit to a location where it is less audible or further away from listening positions. The simple workaround is to set the rear panel switch to "0" (off) if the buzzing is persistent and disruptive, though this will disable the power correction feature.
