2. Instruccions de seguretat importants

- Disconnect the normal AC ballast from the lamp(s) as per the wiring diagram.
- Connect the EBP500's input wires to the unswitched AC power source (Line and Neutral).
- Connect the EBP500's output wires to the lamp(s) according to the diagram, ensuring proper polarity.
- Connect the remote test switch and indicator light to the designated connector on the EBP500. Mount the test switch/indicator light in an accessible location on the fixture.
- Once all wiring is complete, connect the battery connector to the EBP500 unit.
4.3 Càrrega inicial
After installation, restore AC power to the fixture. The EBP500 requires a minimum of 24 hours of continuous AC power to fully charge the battery before it can provide its rated emergency duration.
5. Instruccions de funcionament
5.1 Funcionament normal
When AC power is present, the EBP500 unit is in standby mode, continuously charging its battery. The indicator light (if installed) will be illuminated, signifying that the battery is charging and ready for emergency operation.
5.2 Funcionament d'emergència
Upon interruption of normal AC power, the EBP500 automatically switches to emergency mode, providing power to the connected fluorescent lamp(s) for a minimum of 90 minutes. The indicator light will turn off during emergency operation.
5.3 Testing the Unit
To test the emergency function, press and hold the test switch. The connected lamp(s) should illuminate, and the indicator light should turn off. Release the test switch to return to normal operation. Regular testing is recommended as per local codes (e.g., monthly 30-second tests, annual 90-minute tests).
6. Manteniment
The EBP500 requires minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks are essential to ensure proper operation.
