Car Seat Base Installation
The Graco SnugRide SnugFit Infant Car Seat features a LATCH-equipped stay-in-car base for secure installation.
Using the LATCH System
- Place the car seat base on the vehicle seat.
- Locate your vehicle's lower anchors (LATCH system).
- Attach the LATCH connectors from the car seat base to the vehicle's lower anchors.
- Press firmly on the base to remove slack from the LATCH straps.
- Check the pendulum level indicator on the base to ensure the correct recline angle. The 4-position adjustable base allows for proper positioning.
- Verify the base is securely installed by pulling on it; it should not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
Using the Vehicle Seat Belt
- Place the car seat base on the vehicle seat.
- Route the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt through the designated belt path on the car seat base.
- Buckle the vehicle seat belt.
- Remove all slack from the vehicle seat belt by pressing firmly on the base and pulling the shoulder belt.
- Check the pendulum level indicator on the base to ensure the correct recline angle.
- Verify the base is securely installed by pulling on it; it should not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
Attaching the Infant Car Seat to the Base
- Align the infant car seat with the installed base.
- Lower the car seat onto the base until you hear an audible "click," indicating a secure connection.
- Gently pull up on the car seat to ensure it is firmly attached to the base.
