1. Introducció

The VONETS VAP11AC is a versatile dual-band AC1200 wireless device designed to function as a WiFi Bridge, Repeater, Mini Router, WiFi to RJ45 Ethernet Adapter, and WiFi Hotspot Signal Extender. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies, offering a combined theoretical data transfer rate of up to 1200Mbps. This device is equipped with a smart cooling fan for stable operation and includes a 12V/1A power supply adapter.

This manual will guide you through the setup, configuration, and operation of your VAP11AC device to ensure optimal performance in various networking scenarios.

3. Guia de configuració

3.1 Contingut del paquet

Abans de continuar, assegureu-vos que hi hagi tots els elements:

• VONETS VAP11AC Device
• 12V/1A Power Supply Adapter
• Ethernet Cable (approx. 30cm with RJ45 connector)
• Power Cable (approx. 30cm with DC and USB ports)

3.2 Connexió inicial

1. Connect the power cable to the VAP11AC device's DC port.
2. Plug the 12V/1A power adapter into a power outlet and connect it to the power cable.
3. Wait for the device to power on. The LED indicators will illuminate.
4. For initial configuration, connect your computer to the VAP11AC device using the provided Ethernet cable. Alternatively, you can connect wirelessly to the VAP11AC's default WiFi network (SSID and password typically found on the device label or in the quick start guide).

3.3 Web Accés a la interfície

1. Obre a web browser on your connected computer.
2. Introduïu l'adreça IP predeterminada (per exemple, 192.168.254.254) a la barra d'adreces i premeu Intro.
3. Log in using the default username and password (refer to the device label or quick start guide for credentials).
4. Once logged in, you can configure the device's operating mode and network settings.

4. Modes de funcionament

The VAP11AC supports several operating modes to suit different networking requirements.

Mode de pont WiFi 4.1

In Bridge mode, the VAP11AC converts a WiFi signal into a wired Ethernet connection. This is ideal for devices that only have an Ethernet port but need to connect to a wireless network, such as desktop computers, network printers, surveillance cameras, or DVRs.

1. Accedeix al web interface and select Bridge mode.
2. Scan for available WiFi networks and select your desired network.
3. Enter the WiFi password if required.
4. Connect your wired device to the VAP11AC's Ethernet port.

4.2 Mode repetidor WiFi

Repeater mode extends the coverage of an existing WiFi network. The VAP11AC receives the wireless signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it, eliminating dead zones and improving signal strength in areas with weak coverage.

1. Accedeix al web interface and select Repeater mode.
2. Scan for available WiFi networks and select the network you wish to extend.
3. Enter the WiFi password. The VAP11AC will then extend this network.

4.3 Mode de router WiFi

In Router mode, the VAP11AC acts as a primary router, creating a new wireless network. This is suitable for scenarios where you have a wired internet connection (e.g., from a modem) and need to share it wirelessly with multiple devices.

1. Accedeix al web interface and select Router mode.
2. Configure WAN settings (e.g., DHCP, Static IP, PPPoE) based on your internet service provider.
3. Set up your new WiFi network's SSID and password.
4. Connect your modem's Ethernet cable to the VAP11AC's Ethernet port.

4.4 AP (Access Point) Mode

AP mode allows the VAP11AC to create a wireless network from an existing wired network. This is useful for adding WiFi capabilities to a wired-only network, such as in hotel rooms or offices.

1. Accedeix al web interface and select AP mode.
2. Configure the SSID and password for the new wireless network.
3. Connect the VAP11AC's Ethernet port to your wired network.

5. Manteniment

5.1 Smart Cooling Fan

The VAP11AC features a smart cooling fan designed to activate automatically after 5-10 minutes of normal operation to dissipate heat and ensure stable performance. The fan will also automatically shut down when cooling is no longer required.

This fan function can be configured manually via the web interface, allowing you to disable it, set it to automatic control, or periodic automatic control.

5.2 Atenció general

• Keep the device in a well-ventilated area to assist with heat dissipation.
• Eviteu exposar el dispositiu a temperatures extremes, humitat o llum solar directa.
• Clean the device periodically with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
• Assegureu-vos que tots els cables estiguin ben connectats.

6. Solució De Problemes

6.1 El dispositiu no s'encén

• Verify the power adapter is correctly connected to the device and a working power outlet.
• Ensure the power adapter is the correct 12V/1A type provided with the device.

6.2 No es pot accedir Web Interfície

• Confirm your computer is connected to the VAP11AC via Ethernet or its default WiFi network.
• Ensure your computer's IP settings are configured to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
• Double-check the default IP address (192.168.254.254) in your browser.
• Prova d'esborrar la memòria cau del navegador o utilitza un altre navegador.
• If you have changed the device's IP address and forgotten it, perform a factory reset (see 6.5 Factory Reset).

6.3 Sense connexió a Internet

• In Repeater or Bridge mode, ensure the VAP11AC is successfully connected to your main router's WiFi network and the password is correct.
• In Router mode, verify your WAN settings are correctly configured for your internet service provider.
• Check the status of your main router or modem.

6.4 Overheating Concerns

While the VAP11AC has a smart cooling fan, some users have reported the device becoming warm during extended use. Ensure the device is placed in an area with adequate airflow and that the fan vents are not obstructed. If overheating persists, consider adjusting the fan settings in the web interface or contacting support.

6.5 Restabliment de fàbrica

To restore the device to its factory default settings:

1. With the device powered on, locate the Reset button (usually a small pinhole).
2. Use a paperclip or similar pointed object to press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds.
3. Release the button when the device's lights flash or it reboots.
4. The device will restart with factory default settings. You will need to reconfigure it.
