1. Introducció

The FIBARO Double Smart Module (FGS-224) is a compact radio module designed to integrate existing electrical installations into a Z-Wave network. This allows connected devices, such as lighting or airing systems, to be controlled not only by their traditional wall switches but also remotely via a Z-Wave controller, smartphone, or through automated scenes.

2. Informació de seguretat

4. Configuració i instal·lació

The FIBARO Double Smart Module is designed to be placed in a wall box, typically behind a traditional wall switch. It acts as an intermediary, receiving control signals from the switch and then controlling the connected load.

4.1. Wall Box Requirements

It is recommended to use wall boxes with a depth of 65mm. However, smaller boxes with a depth of 45mm can also be used if sufficient space is available behind the switch, considering the size of the traditional switch and any additional cabling.

4.2. Wiring Diagram (General Guidance)

While specific wiring diagrams are typically provided in the physical manual or on the manufacturer's website, the module connects to the existing electrical circuit. The wall switch will no longer directly control the load but will send a signal to the module, which then controls the load. The module supports both momentary and toggle switches.

4.3. Inclusió de la xarxa Z-Wave

Once physically installed and powered, the module needs to be included (paired) into your Z-Wave network. The exact procedure varies depending on your Z-Wave controller. Generally, you will put your Z-Wave controller into inclusion mode and then perform a specific action on the FIBARO module (e.g., triple-clicking a button or toggling the connected switch rapidly) to initiate the pairing process.

5. Funcionament del mòdul

After successful installation and inclusion into your Z-Wave network, the FIBARO Double Smart Module can be operated in several ways:

• Via Existing Wall Switch: Continue to use your traditional wall switch as normal. The module interprets the switch's action and controls the connected load.
• Via Z-Wave Controller: Use your Z-Wave hub's interface (e.g., smartphone app, web interface) to remotely turn the connected devices on or off.
• Automated Scenes: Integrate the module into Z-Wave scenes or automations. For example, you can set up a scene to turn on garden lights at sunset or activate a sprinkler system based on a schedule or sensor input.

The FIBARO Double Smart Module is designed for maintenance-free operation once installed correctly. No user-serviceable parts are inside.
