3.2 Initial Burn-In / Seasoning
Before cooking food, it is crucial to perform an initial burn-in to season the grill and burn off any manufacturing oils or residues. This process helps to cure the paint and prepare the cooking surfaces.
- Fill the pellet hopper with food-grade hardwood pellets.
- Plug the grill into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Turn the grill on and set the temperature to 350°F (177°C).
- Allow the grill to operate at this temperature for at least 45 minutes to an hour.
- After the seasoning process, turn the grill off and allow it to cool completely before first use.
