The LEAP Digital Chess Clock requires 1 AA battery (not included).

Selecting a Mode (Basic, Bonus, Delay)

To select a timing mode:

1. Ensure the clock is powered on.
2. Press and hold the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds until the display flashes, indicating you are in setting mode.
3. Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to cycle through the available modes (Basic, Bonus, Delay).
4. Once the desired mode is displayed, press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to confirm the selection.

Setting Time (Countdown Mode)

To set the countdown time for a game:

1. Power off the clock, then power it back on.
2. Press and hold the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds to enter the time setting mode. The hour digits will flash.
3. Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to adjust the hour.
4. Press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to move to the minute digits, then adjust with Up/Down buttons.
5. Repeat for seconds.
6. Continue pressing the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) to cycle through bonus and delay settings (if applicable to the selected mode).
7. Once all settings are configured, press and hold the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds to save and exit the setting mode.
8. Press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to start the countdown.

Note: If you are playing with the same game time repeatedly, simply turn the clock off and on, then press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) to begin the countdown with the last saved settings.

Count-Up Timing

To use the clock in count-up mode:

1. Ensure the clock is powered on and set to a mode that supports count-up (e.g., Basic mode with initial time set to 0:00).
2. Press the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) briefly to start the timer. It will begin counting upwards from 0:00.
3. Players alternate pressing their respective side levers to switch the active timer.

Bonus Function

The Bonus function adds a specified amount of time to a player's clock after each move. To set the bonus time:

1. Enter setting mode by holding the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds.
2. Navigate to the Bonus setting (indicated by "bonus" on the display).
3. Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to set the desired bonus time in seconds.
4. Confirm and exit setting mode by holding the Play/Pause/Setting button (►▮/⚡) for 3 seconds.
