1. Introducció

The Jebao CW-36 Non-submersible Pond and Aquarium Clarifier is designed to maintain clean, clear pond water throughout the season. It utilizes a high-performance UV light bulb to effectively clarify water. This unit is suitable for both new and existing ponds or water gardens, offering ease of installation and maintenance.

2. Advertiments de seguretat importants

WARNING: UV Light can cause damage to eyes and skin. Avoid looking directly at the light. Wear protective glasses and clothing during use.

• This appliance contains a UV-C emitter which is a UV Lamp.
• Always disconnect all appliances from the electrical supply before putting your hands in the water whilst the equipment is being installed, repaired, maintained or handled.
• Read the relevant maintenance instructions before opening the appliance.

• The clarifier unit is weatherproof but not waterproof and must not be submerged in water. Therefore, position the unit away from the edge of the pond to prevent the clarifier being accidentally dropped into the water.
• Undersized use of the appliance or damage to the housing may result in the release of dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation may, even in little doses, cause damage to eyes and skin.

3. Configuració i instal·lació

The Jebao UV Clarifier is electrically operated and designed for outdoor use only. It is intended to be used in conjunction with a pond filter and filter pump system.

3.1 Connexió elèctrica

• The appliance must be earthed and all connections must be securely made.
• It must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
• The clarifier is supplied complete with 5m of 3-core electrical cable. The supply cable cannot be replaced; if damaged, the clarifier should be scrapped.
• If an extension cable is required, it should be connected to the end of the clarifier cable using a weatherproof cable connector. The joint must be positioned outside the water in a suitable dry housing. The extension supply cord should be at least 3-core, 0.75mm² polychloroprene sheathed and not be lighter than ordinary polychloroprene sheathed.

3.2 Col·locació de la unitat

• The unit must be installed horizontally on a solid surface by screwing to the surface through the 4 holes on the securing plates. If strong enough, the lid of the filter is an ideal location.
• Do not allow vertical placement.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

For optimal performance and to prevent algae growth and green water, the Jebao UV Clarifier should be run for 24 hours a day during the season. When used in conjunction with a pond filter and filter pump, pond water should be clear within 2 weeks.

5. Manteniment

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your UV clarifier.

5.1 UV Bulb Replacement

• For peak performance, the light bulb should be replaced after approximately 8,000 hours of operation (about once every 11 months).
• To access the bulb, depress the small button on the unit and turn the cap to pull out the assembly.
• The UV bulb is protected by a glass sleeve. Carefully slide the glass sleeve off.
• The new UV bulb should have four prongs. Handle the new bulb with a towel or gloves to avoid direct skin contact, as oils can reduce its lifespan.
• Align the prongs of the new bulb with the holes in the socket and press it into place until it clicks.
• Ensure the rubber gasket is seated nicely to prevent water from entering the bulb compartment.
• Replace the glass sleeve and reassemble the unit by turning the cap until it is securely fitted for an airtight seal.

6. Solució De Problemes

If your Jebao CW-36 Clarifier is not functioning as expected, consider the following common issues:

• No Light/Dim Light: If the UV light does not come on or appears dim, the bulb may need replacement. Ensure the new bulb is correctly seated and has the appropriate wattage (36W) and prong configuration (four prongs).
• Green Water Persists: If pond water remains green after two weeks of continuous operation, ensure the clarifier is running 24 hours a day during the season. Verify that the unit is correctly integrated with your pond filter and pump system. The clarifier can be positioned either before or after the main filtration system.
• Fuga d'aigua: Check all connections and fittings for tightness. Ensure the rubber gasket around the UV bulb assembly is properly seated and not damaged.
• Font d'alimentació: Confirm that the unit is connected to a functional power outlet and that the RCD (Residual Current Device) is not tripped.
