5.1 Precaucions generals

5.3 Installing in a PlayStation 5

1. Power Off PS5: Turn off your PlayStation 5 completely and unplug all cables.
2. Remove Base and Cover: Place the PS5 on a soft cloth. Remove the base stand. Gently lift and slide off the side cover with the PlayStation logo.

6.1 Inicialització i formatació de l'SSD

After physical installation, new SSDs typically need to be initialized and formatted before use. This process creates a partition on the drive, making it accessible to your operating system or console.

Per a PC Windows:

1. Right-click on the Start button and select "Disk Management".
2. Locate your new SSD (it will likely appear as "Unallocated" space).
3. Right-click on the unallocated space and select "Initialize Disk". Choose GPT (GUID Partition Table) for modern systems.
4. Right-click the unallocated space again and select "New Simple Volume". Follow the wizard to format the drive (NTFS recommended).

Per a PlayStation 5:

1. After powering on your PS5, a message will appear prompting you to format the M.2 SSD.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to format the drive. Note that all data on the SSD will be deleted during this process.
3. The PS5 will display the read speed of your M.2 SSD after formatting.
