The installation process involves mounting the mechanical tow bar structure and connecting the vehicle-specific electrical kit. Refer to the detailed installation instructions (ABE) included with your delivery for precise, step-by-step guidance specific to your Volvo V60 II.

4.1. Mechanical Tow Bar Installation

The tow bar is designed for an invisible bumper cut-out. The main structure bolts directly to the vehicle's chassis.

4.2. Electrical Kit Installation

The vehicle-specific 13-pin electrical kit connects to your car's existing wiring system. It includes a control unit and is adapted to the car's cable length.

Important: The electrical kit supports parking aid deactivation. Coding/activation of the vehicle's onboard computer is required after installation of the electrical kit. This step is crucial for proper functionality and should be performed by a qualified service center.

Permanent power and charging line for caravans are not integrated by default but can be added with extension kits (22400001 for permanent power, 22400509 for charging line) available at extra cost.

2. Insert the detachable ball head from below into the receiver until it clicks securely into place.

4. Use the provided key to lock the ball head, preventing theft and accidental removal. Remove the key after locking.

5.2. Removing the Detachable Ball Head

1. Unlock the ball head using the key.
2. Follow the specific release procedure outlined in your detailed installation instructions (ABE). This typically involves pulling a lever or turning a knob.
3. Carefully pull the ball head downwards and out of the receiver.
4. Store the ball head in a clean, dry place, preferably in its original bag or case, to protect it from dirt and damage.

5.3. Connecting a Trailer

1. Ensure the detachable ball head is securely attached and locked.
2. Lower the trailer coupling onto the tow ball.
3. Connect the 13-pin electrical plug from the trailer to the vehicle's 13-pin socket. Ensure a firm connection.
4. Check all trailer lights (indicators, brake lights, tail lights) for proper function before driving.
