Panell frontal
The front panel of the Volt 4 provides access to primary input connections and monitoring controls.

- INPUT 1 & 2 (Combo Jacks): Connect microphones (XLR) or instruments/line-level sources (1/4" TRS).

Follow these steps to set up your Universal Audio Volt 4 interface:
- Connexió a l'ordinador: Use the provided USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the Volt 4 to an available USB port on your computer. If your computer has a USB-C port, you may use a USB-C to USB-C cable (not included).
- Encès: The Volt 4 is bus-powered via USB. For optimal performance or with certain devices, connect the included 5V DC power adapter to the 5VDC input on the rear panel. Flip the POWER switch to the ON position.

Upon connecting the Volt 4, your computer should recognize the device. For full functionality and access to included software, visit the Universal Audio website or scan the QR code provided in your quick start guide to download the necessary drivers and Universal Audio Connect application. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation and registration.
- Connect Monitors/Headphones: Connect your studio monitors to the MONITOR OUTPUTS (1/L, 2/R) on the rear panel. Connect your headphones to the HP jack on the front panel.

Recording with Volt 4
Once your Volt 4 is set up and drivers are installed, you can begin recording:
- Open Your DAW: Launch your preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software (e.g., Ableton Live Lite, included with registration).
- Select Volt 4 as Audio Device: In your DAW's audio settings, select "Universal Audio Volt 4" as your input and output device.
- Arm a Track: Create a new audio track and arm it for recording. Select the corresponding input (e.g., Input 1 for your microphone).
- Ajust de guany: Speak into your microphone or play your instrument while observing the input meters in your DAW. Adjust the GAIN knob on the Volt 4 until the signal is strong but not clipping (peaking into the red).
- Engage Vintage Mode (Optional): Press the VINTAGE button on the desired input channel to activate the 610 tube preamp emulation for added warmth and character.
- Engage INST Mode (Optional): If connecting a guitar or bass directly, press the INST button for optimal impedance matching.
- Phantom Power (Optional): If using a condenser microphone, press the 48V button to supply phantom power. Ensure the microphone is connected before activating 48V.
