This instruction manual provides essential information for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Decathlon 4.2 Fresh & Black Family Camping Tent. Setup and Pitching
The Decathlon 4.2 Fresh & Black tent features an all-in-one frame structure with pre-assembled bedrooms and flysheet for simplified pitching.
- Identify the four coloured poles. Insert each pole into its respective sleeve on the tent flysheet.
- Once poles are in sleeves, make the structure taut by positioning the ends of the poles into the black end pieces located underneath the flysheet.
- Drive the V-shaped pegs into the ground at the two back corners of the tent.
- Pull the tent forward to extend it fully.
- Drive the remaining pegs into the ground at the two front corners to secure the tent.
- For optimal stability and ease, it is recommended that dues persones pitch the tent.

Fresh & Black Technology
The Fresh & Black technology, patented by Decathlon, is designed to reflect the sun's rays and insulate from light using specific materials. This significantly reduces the sensation of heat inside the tent and makes the bedrooms darker, promoting better sleep. To maximize the benefits of this technology, ensure proper ventilation of your tent, especially at night.
Protecció solar
The Fresh & Black fabric provides UPF 50+ sun protection. However, be aware that a significant amount of UV rays can still enter through open doors or windows. Always use additional sun protection when exposed.
Ventilació
The tent is equipped with multiple ventilation points to ensure air circulation and reduce condensation:
- A ventilated flysheet in the living area airs the room.
- High ventilation hatches are located outside each bedroom.
- Large, low ventilation hatches are present inside each bedroom.
- The living room features a mosquito net, and bedrooms have high mosquito nets for insect protection.

Living Space and Bedrooms
The tent offers a 3.5 square meter living area with a maximum inner tent height of 1.90 meters. It includes:
- A foldaway basin-shaped groundsheet at the entrance, useful during rain.
- Transparent shuttered window.
- Shuttered mosquito net window.
- Two storage pockets in each bedroom and eight in the living room for organization.
The two bedrooms are designed to accommodate a maximum of two 70 cm wide mattresses each.

Manteniment i emmagatzematge
Aquest camping tent is designed for occasional outdoor use, typically up to 4 weeks per year, for camping or general outdoor activities. To ensure the maximum durability and longevity of your tent, proper maintenance and storage are crucial.

Troubleshooting and Durability
Resistència al vent
All Decathlon tents undergo rigorous testing in a wind tunnel on a turntable to ensure durability. When properly pitched with all guy ropes deployed, this tent is designed to remain habitable in wind speeds up to 6 (around 50 km/h). Ensure all pegs are securely driven into the ground and guy ropes are taut for maximum stability in windy conditions.
Impermeabilització
The tent's waterproofing is validated through two tests:
- Laboratory Test: 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per square meter, simulating tropical rain (200 mm per hour).

The tent features a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet with a 2,000 mm rating, seams waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet to ensure excellent water resistance.
