2.2 Product Preparation

1. Agitar bé: Important solids will settle. The product must be thoroughly shaken or agitated before use to ensure proper application and consistent performance.
2. Straining: This product requires a 325 Mesh Strainer (SE-277) for proper application. Strain the clear coat before pouring into your spray equipment to prevent clogs and ensure a smooth finish.
3. No Catalyst Required: Unlike some other Cerakote products, MC-160 does not require a catalyst. It is an air-cured formula.

Apply the MC-160 High Gloss Ceramic Clear using appropriate spray equipment. Ensure even coverage for a uniform finish.

• Tack Free Time: The coating will be tack free within 30-45 minutes.

• Temps de curació completa: For maximum durability and performance, allow the coating to fully cure for 5 days. Avoid exposing the coated item to harsh conditions or heavy use during this period.

  • Verify that the previous coating (if any) was fully cured and properly prepared (e.g., scuffed) before applying MC-160. Applying too soon or too late over other coatings can affect adhesion.
  • Ensure proper film thickness. Applying too thick or too thin can impact durability and adhesion.
• Strange Film or Scratches Easily:
  • Confirm the product was shaken thoroughly before use. Settled solids can lead to inconsistent application and performance.
  • Ensure the product has reached its full 5-day cure time before subjecting it to any stress or abrasion. Premature handling can damage the uncured coating.
  • Verify storage conditions. Exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures can degrade the product.
• Uneven Finish or Clogging:
  • Always use a 325 Mesh Strainer (SE-277) to filter the product before spraying. This prevents particles from clogging the spray equipment and ensures a smooth finish.
  • Check your spray equipment for proper setup, pressure, and nozzle size.
