1. Introducció

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of the Vitalograph COPD-6 Screener BT. The Vitalograph COPD-6 is an electronic COPD screening device designed to ascertain the obstruction index and the FEV1/FEV6 ratio, thereby assisting in the detection of potential COPD diseases. It identifies individuals at risk of COPD at the pre-symptomatic stage and screens out those whose FEV1 is normal.

4.1. Instal·lació de la bateria

1. Localitzeu el compartiment de la bateria a la part posterior del dispositiu.
2. Obriu la coberta del compartiment.
3. Introduïu 2 piles AAA, assegurant-vos de la polaritat correcta (+/-) tal com s'indica a l'interior del compartiment.
4. Tanqueu bé la tapa del compartiment de la bateria.

4.2. Fixació de la boquilla

1. Select a clean, disposable mouthpiece.
2. Align the mouthpiece with the opening on the device.
3. Gently push the mouthpiece onto the device until it is firmly seated.

4.3. Initial Power On and Bluetooth Pairing

1. Premeu el botó d'engegada per encendre el dispositiu.
2. The device will display initial setup options or be ready for use.
3. To pair with a computer or mobile device, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the COPD-6 Screener BT and the receiving device.
4. Open the Vitalograph Reports Software (included) on your computer or the Vitalograph app on your mobile device.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions within the software/app to complete the pairing process. The Bluetooth indicator on the COPD-6 will confirm successful connection.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1. Realització d'una prova

1. Ensure the device is powered on and a clean mouthpiece is attached.
2. Sit upright and relax.
3. Take a deep breath, filling your lungs completely.
4. Place your lips tightly around the mouthpiece, ensuring no air leaks.
5. Exhale as hard and as fast as you can, emptying your lungs completely. Continue exhaling for at least 6 seconds.
6. The device will display the FEV1, FEV6, ratio, percent predicted, obstructive index, COPD classification, and lung age.
7. Repeat the test as necessary, typically three times, to ensure consistent and accurate readings.

5.2. Interpretació de resultats

The device displays key spirometry parameters. The GOLD COPD classification (Stage I – IV) is shown to help recognize the need for a change in the patient’s management plan. Results are automatically sent to the paired software/app after each blow for detailed reporting and analysis.

• FEV1: Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 second.
• FEV6: Forced Expiratory Volume in 6 seconds.
• FEV1/FEV6 Ratio: An important indicator for COPD screening.
• Obstructive Index: Based on a percentage of predicted values.
• Lung Age: An estimate of lung health compared to chronological age.

6. Manteniment i cura

6.1. Neteja del dispositiu

• Netegeu l'exterior del dispositiu amb un damp tela.
• No utilitzeu productes de neteja abrasius ni submergiu el dispositiu en aigua.
• The mouthpiece should be disposable and replaced for each user to maintain hygiene.

6.2. Substitució de la bateria

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries as described in the "Battery Installation" section (4.1). Always use new AAA alkaline batteries.

6.3. Emmagatzematge

Store the device in its carry pouch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
