1. Introducció

The Invacare Glissando Gliding Mattress is engineered to assist in the prevention of friction and shear, factors that can contribute to the development of pressure ulcers. It also aims to provide comfort for the user. Shear is recognized as a significant contributor to pressure ulcer formation.

This mattress features a patented design that allows it to conform simultaneously to the individual and the bed frame, thereby optimizing the functionality of an articulating bed. The castellation-cut foam is designed to redistribute pressure for enhanced user comfort.

3. Instruccions de configuració

1. Desempaquetar el matalàs: Carefully remove the mattress from its packaging. Ensure no sharp objects are used that could damage the mattress cover or foam.
2. Inspeccionar per danys: Before placement, visually inspect the mattress for any signs of damage incurred during shipping.
3. Position on Bed Frame: Place the mattress directly onto the hospital bed frame. Ensure it is centered and aligned with the frame. The Invacare logo should be visible at the head end of the bed.
4. Allow to Decompress: If the mattress was compressed for shipping, allow it to fully decompress for several hours before use.
5. Segur (si escau): If your bed frame has mattress retainers, ensure the mattress is properly secured to prevent shifting.

The Invacare Glissando mattress is designed to work in conjunction with articulating hospital bed frames. Its unique construction allows the mattress to flex and move with the bed's sections, reducing shear forces on the user.

• Articulating Bed Use: When adjusting the head or foot sections of the bed, the mattress will naturally conform. The gliding layer minimizes friction between the user and the mattress surface as the bed articulates.
• User Positioning: Ensure the user is positioned centrally on the mattress. The built-in sidewall supports provide stability during transfers and when sitting on the edge of the bed.

5. Manteniment i Neteja

Regular maintenance and cleaning will extend the life of your Invacare Glissando mattress and ensure hygienic use.

5.1. Mattress Cover Cleaning

• The fluid-resistant cover can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and a mild disinfectant solution.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these may damage the cover material.
• Ensure the cover is completely dry before placing linens or allowing a user onto the mattress.
• The concealed zipper helps protect the foam. If the cover needs to be removed for more thorough cleaning, carefully unzip it.
