1. Introducció

The RunCam Mini FPV DVR is a compact and lightweight digital video recorder specifically designed for mini FPV racing drones. It allows pilots to record their flight footage directly from their FPV camera with lossless video output, ensuring high-quality recordings for review or sharing. Its small form factor and M2 mounting holes make it ideal for integration into various drone builds.

4. Configuració

4.1. Esquema de cablejat

The RunCam Mini FPV DVR is designed to be installed between your FPV camera and your Video Transmitter (VTX) or Flight Controller (FC) for recording. Ensure correct polarity and connections as shown in the diagram below.

4.2. Instal·lació de la targeta Micro SD

Insert a Micro SD card (up to 32GB, not included) into the designated slot on the DVR. Ensure the card is inserted correctly until it clicks into place. The DVR will not record without a Micro SD card.

4.3. Remote Control Association

The DVR supports remote control functionality to start and stop recording. This can be achieved through two methods:

Method 1: Automatic Association (Speedy Bee App iOS >= 1.0.8, Android >= 1.0.7)

1. Select your Flight Controller and RunCam DVR-S in the Speedy Bee App.
2. Select the Associate pin, and then connect the PIN you selected to the H/L pad of the RunCam DVR-S.
3. Select Associate mode (e.g., ARM to start recording after arming, disarm to stop recording).
4. Associate action: The DVR will perform the action when the associated mode is activated. This setting typically does not need to be changed.
5. Click 'Bind and Reboot'.

Method 2: Manual Association (Speedy Bee App iOS >= 1.0.8, Android >= 1.0.7)

1. Open the Speedy Bee App, navigate to Help Center > RunCam DVR-S > Telemetry Control.
2. Select your Flight Controller and RunCam DVR-S.
3. Select the Associate pin, and then connect the PIN you selected to the H/L pad of the RunCam DVR-S.
4. Select Associate mode (e.g., ARM to start recording after arming, disarm to stop recording).
5. Click 'Generate CLI Commands'.
6. Copy the generated commands and enter them into the CLI interface of your ground station.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1. Gravació

Once powered on and configured, the DVR will begin recording based on your chosen association method (e.g., when the drone is armed). Recording files are automatically saved in segments of approximately 5 minutes each. Recording will automatically stop when the Micro SD card is full.

Approximately 2GB of storage capacity is required for 1 hour of recording. An 8GB Micro SD card can record for about 3.5 hours.

5.2. File Gestió

Important: The DVR will not automatically save the current recording file if power is suddenly cut. Always stop recording before powering off the device to ensure your last recording is saved.

6. Manteniment

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your RunCam Mini FPV DVR, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Neteja: Gently clean the DVR with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the electronic components.
• Emmagatzematge: Store the DVR in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
• Manipulació: Handle the DVR with care to prevent physical damage to the circuit board or connectors. Avoid bending or dropping the unit.
• Targeta micro SD: Periodically back up your recorded footage and format the Micro SD card to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption.

7. Solució De Problemes

If you encounter issues with your RunCam Mini FPV DVR, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Sense gravació:
  • Ensure a Micro SD card is properly inserted and has sufficient free space.
  • Verify that the DVR is receiving power (DC 3.3-5.5V).
  • Check the remote control association settings to ensure recording is triggered correctly.
• Poca qualitat de vídeo:
  • Ensure your FPV camera is providing a clear CVBS signal.

  • Ensure the Micro SD card is not corrupted; try formatting it or using a different card.
• Last Recording Not Saved:
  • Always stop recording manually (via remote control or disarming) before disconnecting power to the DVR.

  • Verify the power input voltage is within the specified range (DC 3.3-5.5V).
  • Check power connections for proper soldering and continuity.
