1. Introducció

The SIRUI Macro Focusing Rail MS18 is designed to provide precise camera-to-subject distance control for macro photography. It features a quick adjustment button, fine-tuning capabilities, a 360° rotating head, and detachable feet, making it a versatile tool for various shooting scenarios, including focus stacking.

• Movement Twist Knob: Used for precise, minor adjustments of the camera position along the rail.
• Quick Release Plate Locking Knob: Secures the quick release plate, holding the camera firmly in place.
• Rotating Head Lock: Locks the 360° rotating head at the desired angle.
• Fast Movement Button: Allows for rapid, large adjustments of the camera position when pressed and held.
• Adjustment Knob (Thumb-Screw Knob): Provides fine movement control, approximately 1.25mm per revolution.

3. Instruccions de configuració

1. Connectant la càmera:
   • Ensure the quick release plate locking knob is loosened.
   • Attach your camera to the quick release plate using the 1/4" screw. Tighten securely.
   • Slide the quick release plate with the camera onto the rail's clamp.

2. Opcions de muntatge:
   • Ús de taula: Ensure the four detachable feet are securely attached to the bottom of the rail for stable placement on flat surfaces.
   • Muntatge del trípode:
     • The rail can be mounted directly onto a tripod using the 3/8" threaded hole on its base.
     • Alternatively, if your tripod head has an Arca-Swiss compatible clamp, the integrated Arca-Swiss base of the rail can be used for mounting.
3. Dual-Axis (4-Way) Adjustment (Optional):
   • For four-way adjustment (horizontal and vertical movement), two MS18 macro rails can be stacked. Mount the first rail horizontally onto a tripod.
   • Mount the second rail vertically onto the first rail's Arca-Swiss clamp.
   • Attach the camera to the second (vertical) rail.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

4.1 Adjusting Camera Position

• Ajust ràpid: For large movements, press and hold the Fast Movement Button. This disengages the lead screw, allowing you to slide the camera carriage freely along the rail. Release the button to re-engage for fine control.
• Ajust menor: For precise, small movements, turn the Adjustment Knob (thumb-screw knob). Each full revolution moves the camera approximately 1.25mm.
• Fine-Tuning Tactile Sensation: The side knob allows you to adjust the resistance and tactile feel of the movement, enhancing precision.

4.2 Using the 360° Rotating Head

• The integrated rotating head allows for 360° rotation of the camera.
• Loosen the Rotating Head Lock to adjust the camera to your desired angle (e.g., 0°, 90°, 180°, 270°, 360°).
• Once the desired angle is achieved, tighten the Rotating Head Lock to secure the camera position.

5. Manteniment

• Neteja: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the rail and its components. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or moving parts.
• Lubricació: The lead screw mechanism is designed for smooth operation. Avoid applying excessive lubricants unless specifically recommended by the manufacturer, as this can attract dust and debris.
• Emmagatzematge: Store the macro rail in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
• Inspecció: Periodically check all screws and knobs to ensure they are securely tightened.
