1. Introducció

2. Informació de seguretat

Always observe safety precautions when using electrical testing equipment. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to the device.

• The KM401 is IEC-61010-1 CAT. IV 600V and CAT. III 1000V certified, ensuring high safety standards.

4. Configuració

4.1 Instal·lació de la bateria

The KM401 multimeter requires 3 AAA batteries for operation. If the batteries are not pre-installed, follow these steps:

1. Assegureu-vos que el multímetre estigui apagat.
2. Localitzeu la tapa del compartiment de la bateria a la part posterior de la unitat.
3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw(s) and remove the cover.
4. Introduïu les 3 piles AAA, observant la polaritat correcta (+ i -) tal com s'indica a l'interior del compartiment.
5. Torneu a col·locar la tapa del compartiment de la bateria i fixeu-la amb el(s) cargol(s).

4.2 Connexió dels cables de prova

To prepare the multimeter for measurements:

1. Inseriu el cable de prova negre a la presa d'entrada "COM" (comú).
2. Insert the red test lead into the appropriate input jack based on the measurement type:
• Per al voltage, Resistance, Continuity, Diode, Capacitance, Frequency, NCV, Live, and Temperature measurements, use the "VΩHz" jack.
• For Current measurements up to 400mA, use the "mA" jack.
• For Current measurements up to 10A, use the "10A" jack.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 Power On/Off and Auto Shut Off

• To power on the multimeter, rotate the rotary dial from the "OFF" position to any desired function.
• To power off, rotate the dial back to the "OFF" position.
• The multimeter features an Auto Power Off function to conserve battery life. It will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity.
• To deactivate Auto Shut Off, press and hold the 'FUNC' button while turning on the meter.

5.2 Selecció de la funció

Rotate the central dial to select the desired measurement function. For functions with multiple modes (e.g., AC/DC Voltage, Diode/Continuity), press the EMPLEAT botó per anar ciclant pels modes disponibles.

5.3 Mides

5.3.1 AC/DC Voltage Mesura

5.3.2 Mesura de corrent AC/DC

Set the rotary dial to the A~ (AC Current) or A- (DC Current) position, selecting either the mA or 10A input jack as appropriate. Connect the multimeter in series with the circuit to measure current. Ensure the circuit power is off before connecting.

5.3.3 Mesura de la Resistència

Set the rotary dial to the Ω (Resistance) position. Connect the test leads across the component to measure its resistance. Ensure the component is de-energized before measurement.

5.3.4 Prova de continuïtat

Col·loca el dial giratori a Ω posició i premeu EMPLEAT to select continuity mode (indicated by a buzzer icon). Touch the test leads to the points to be tested. A continuous beep indicates continuity (low resistance).

5.3.5 Prova de díodes

Col·loca el dial giratori a Ω posició i premeu EMPLEAT to select diode mode (indicated by a diode symbol). Connect the red lead to the anode and the black lead to the cathode of the diode. The display shows the forward voltage gota.

5.3.6 Mesura de la capacitat

5.3.9 Detecció de cables en fase

Col·loca el dial giratori a Viu position. Insert the red test lead into the live wire socket or touch it to the live wire. The display will indicate if the wire is live.

5.3.10 Phase Sequence Detection

The KM401 can perform phase sequence detection. Set the rotary dial to the Fase position. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the test leads to the phases. The meter will indicate the phase sequence.

5.3.11 Mesura de la temperatura

Col·loca el dial giratori a ° C / ° F position. Connect the thermocouple to the input jacks, observing polarity. Place the thermocouple tip on the object or in the environment whose temperature is to be measured.

5.4 Funcions especials

5.4.1 Retenció de dades

Premeu el botó MANTENIM button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold function.

5.4.2 Retroiluminació i llanterna

Premeu el botó LLUM button (often combined with the HOLD button) to turn on the display backlight for improved visibility in dim conditions. Some models also feature a built-in flashlight, activated by a separate button or a long press of the light button, to illuminate the work area.

6. Manteniment

6.1 Neteja

Netegeu el multímetre casing amb anunciamp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the device is completely dry before use.

6.2 Emmagatzematge

Quan no l'utilitzeu durant períodes prolongats, traieu les piles per evitar fuites. Guardeu el multímetre en un lloc fresc i sec, allunyat de la llum solar directa i de temperatures extremes.

6.3 Substitució de la bateria

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

7. Solució De Problemes

• Display shows "OL" (Overload): This indicates that the measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range or ensure the input is within the meter's capabilities.
• Sense pantalla o pantalla tènue: Check battery level. Replace batteries if low. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
• Lectures inexactes: Check battery level. Ensure test leads are properly connected and not damaged. Verify the correct function and range are selected.
• Auto Shut Off activates too quickly: Ensure the Auto Shut Off function is not deactivated if continuous operation is desired (refer to Section 5.1).
