The 3M High Flow Chloramine Replacement Cartridge is designed to provide consistent quality water by reducing particulate, chloramine, and chlorine taste and odor. This helps prevent abrasion and extends the life of pumps, seals, o-rings, and valves, while also improving the taste of beverages. The reduction of chloramine is important as it can be corrosive and potentially damage water-using equipment such as steamers, combi-ovens, coffee and tea brewers, and espresso machines.

This cartridge features a Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) encapsulated design, which facilitates fast and easy cartridge change-outs without the need for a filter wrench.

2. Configuració i instal·lació

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your 3M High Flow Series Filter Cartridge. This cartridge is designed for use with compatible 3M High Flow Series filter systems.

1. Preparació: Ensure the water supply to the filter system is turned off. If applicable, relieve pressure from the system by opening a downstream faucet.
2. Treure el cartutx antic: For Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) systems, twist the old cartridge counter-clockwise approximately a quarter turn until it disengages from the filter head. Pull the cartridge straight down to remove it.
3. Preparació del cartutx nou: Remove the new HF60-CLXS cartridge from its packaging. Ensure the O-rings are properly seated on the cartridge stem.
4. Instal·leu un cartutx nou: Align the new cartridge with the filter head. Push the cartridge straight up into the head and twist clockwise approximately a quarter turn until it locks securely into place. You may feel a slight resistance as the O-rings seal.

6. Sistema de buidatge: Open a downstream faucet and allow water to run for approximately 5 minutes to flush air and any carbon fines from the system. The water may appear cloudy initially; this is normal. Continue flushing until the water runs clear.

After flushing, the system is ready for use. Regularly check for leaks during the first 24 hours after installation.

3. Instruccions de funcionament

Once installed, the 3M High Flow Series Filter Cartridge HF60-CLXS operates continuously to filter your water supply. No user interaction is required during normal operation.

• Caudal: The cartridge is designed to operate at a maximum flow rate of 3.5 gallons per minute (13.25 liters per minute).
• Interval de pressió: The system should operate within a pressure range of 25 - 125 psi (172 - 862 kPa).
• Interval de temperatura: The recommended operating temperature for the water is 40 - 100°F (4.4 - 37.8°C).
• Filtració: The 0.2 micron filter effectively reduces chloramine, chlorine taste and odor, microbial cysts, and bacteria.

Ensure that the water supply to the filter system is always within the specified operating parameters to maintain optimal performance and prevent damage.

4. Manteniment

Regular replacement of the filter cartridge is essential to maintain water quality and system performance.

• Horari de substitució: The HF60-CLXS filter cartridge must be replaced no later than every 12 months. Replacement is also necessary if the rated gallon capacity of 35,000 gallons has been reached, or if a noticeable drop in flow rate occurs, whichever comes first.
• Procediment de substitució: Follow the steps outlined in the "Setup and Installation" section (Section 2) to replace the old cartridge with a new one. Always remember to turn off the water supply and relieve pressure before attempting to change the cartridge.
• Neteja del sistema: After each cartridge replacement, flush the system as described in the installation steps to ensure proper operation and remove any air or carbon fines.

Failure to replace the filter cartridge as recommended may lead to reduced filtration effectiveness, decreased flow, or potential system damage.

5. Solució De Problemes

If you experience issues with your 3M High Flow Series Filter Cartridge, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Cabal d'aigua reduït:
  • Filtre obstruït: The most common cause. If the cartridge is near its recommended replacement interval (12 months or 35,000 gallons), or if water quality has been poor, it may be time for a replacement.
  • Baixa pressió d'aigua: Check the main water supply pressure to your system.
  • Kinked Lines: Inspect the water lines leading to and from the filter system for any kinks or obstructions.
• Leaks Around Filter Head:
  • Instal·lació incorrecta: Ensure the cartridge is fully seated and twisted clockwise until it locks securely into the filter head.
  • Damaged O-rings: Inspect the O-rings on the cartridge stem for any nicks or damage. If damaged, replace the cartridge.
  • Cracked Filter Head: In rare cases, the filter head itself might be cracked. If this is suspected, contact support.

  • Exhausted Filter: The filter's capacity to reduce taste and odor may be exhausted. Replace the cartridge.
  • Incomplete Flushing: Ensure the system was adequately flushed after installation or replacement to remove any carbon fines.

  • Water Supply Off: Verify that the main water supply to the system is turned on.
  • Cartridge Not Seated: Ensure the cartridge is correctly installed and locked into the filter head.
