1. Introducció i finalview

The Algo 8128G2 is a second-generation Power over Ethernet (PoE) SIP compliant IP strobe light designed for Voice over IP (VoIP) notification and SIP alerting. This device supports SIP Ring, SIP Subscribe Notify, Dry Contact Closure, and Multicast, operating independently of an IP telephone. The 8128G2 features an upgraded hardware platform (G2) compared to its predecessor, offering enhanced multicast options, dedicated "Emergency Alert" extensions, and more. It supports advanced protocols such as TLS, SRTP, SIP TCP, DNS SRV, and CDP/LLDP, and can integrate with InformaCast (requires separate license). Equipped with multiple high-intensity, long-life LEDs, the 8128G2 provides visual alerts for telephone events, emergency situations, and safety/security notifications, meeting standards like OSHA and ADA. It offers 20 configurable flash patterns and adjustable intensities to suit various environments, including noisy or noise-sensitive areas. Optional colored lenses (amber, blue, red) are available separately. The 8128G2 is suitable for mass notification applications and can be combined with other Algo IP endpoints for comprehensive audible and visual alerting solutions in enterprise and campus settings. It requires standard 802.3af Power over Ethernet; a PoE Injector is necessary if PoE is not available. Direct power connection is not supported. 4.1 Instal·lació física

The Algo 8128G2 is designed for wall mounting and can be installed on a dual gang box or a flat wall surface. Ensure the mounting location is suitable for the device's intended use, considering visibility for alerting and proximity to network infrastructure.

4.2 Connexió de xarxa (PoE)

The 8128G2 is powered exclusively by Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliant with 802.3af. Connect a standard Ethernet cable from your PoE-enabled network switch or PoE injector to the "NETWORK" port on the back of the 8128G2. The device will power on automatically once connected to a valid PoE source.

• Ensure your network switch provides 802.3af PoE.
• Do not attempt to connect external power supplies to the device.

4.3 Configuració inicial (Web Interfície d'usuari)

The Algo 8128G2 is configured via its built-in web interfície d'usuari (Web-UI). You will need to obtain the IP address of the device to access its configuration page. This can typically be found through your network's DHCP server logs or by using network scanning tools.

1. Connect the 8128G2 to your PoE network.
2. Obtain the IP address assigned to the device.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

The Algo 8128G2 operates by receiving SIP, multicast, or dry contact signals to trigger visual alerts. Configuration of these triggers and the resulting strobe behavior is performed through the web interfície.

5.1 Strobe Pattern Configuration

The 8128G2 offers 20 configurable flash patterns with adjustable intensities (High/Low). These patterns can be assigned to different alert types (e.g., SIP ringing, emergency alerts).

To configure strobe patterns:

1. Navigate to the "Strobe" tab in the web interfície.
2. Select a pattern from the dropdown menu and choose its brightness (High/Low).
3. Use the "Test" button to preview the selected pattern.

5.2 Advanced SIP Settings

The "Advanced SIP Settings" section allows for detailed configuration of SIP transportation, security (TLS, SRTP), NAT traversal, and server redundancy. This is crucial for integrating the 8128G2 into complex VoIP environments.

5.3 Alertes d'emergència

The 8128G2 supports up to 10 dedicated extensions for triggering emergency alerts. Each alert can be configured with a specific strobe pattern, multicast zone, and authentication details. This allows for rapid visual notification during critical events.

5.4 Configuració d'entrada/sortida

The device includes input and output relay terminals. The input can be configured to trigger a specific flash pattern based on a dry contact closure (e.g., from a panic button or sensor). The output relay can be enabled to control an external device.

5.5 More Page Extensions (Multicast Paging)

The "More Page Extensions" section allows for the configuration of dedicated extensions for paging zones. This provides an alternative to DTMF selectable zones, enabling direct paging to specific areas without DTMF input. This feature is useful for integrating the strobe into a comprehensive multicast paging system.

6. Manteniment

The Algo 8128G2 is designed for low maintenance. Regular maintenance typically involves:

  • Check SIP registration status in the web interface. Ensure the device is registered with your SIP server.
  • Verify SIP account credentials and server settings.
  • Confirm that the correct SIP extension or multicast address is being used to trigger the strobe.
  • Check network connectivity and ensure no packet loss or firewall issues are preventing SIP/multicast traffic.
  • Review the configured flash patterns and ensure they are enabled and assigned correctly.
• Strobe Not Flashing (Dry Contact Input):
  • Verify the wiring of the dry contact input to the 8128G2 terminals.
  • Check the "Input/Output" settings in the web interface to ensure the relay input mode is correctly configured (e.g., "Relay Normally Open").
  • Test the dry contact source to ensure it is functioning correctly.
