1. Introducció

4. Configuració

4.1 Preparació inicial

2. Neteja: Wash the water tank, portafilter, filters, milk jug, and tamper with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

4.2 Omplir el dipòsit d'aigua

1. Traieu el dipòsit d'aigua de la part posterior de la màquina.
2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the 'MAX' level indicated.
3. If using a water filter, condition it as per its instructions (typically by soaking for 5 minutes) before placing it in the tank.
4. Torneu a inserir el dipòsit d'aigua a la màquina de manera segura.

4.3 Omplir la tolva de grans de cafè

1. Open the lid of the integrated conical burr grinder's bean hopper located on top of the machine.
2. Pour fresh whole coffee beans into the hopper.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 Moler cafè

1. Seleccioneu la cistella de filtre adequada (d'un o dos cops) i col·loqueu-la al portafiltre.
2. Adjust the grind size and grind amount using the dials on the machine's control panel. Finer grinds are typically for espresso.
3. Position the portafilter under the grinder outlet.
4. Press the grind button to start grinding. The machine will automatically dispense the set amount of coffee.

5.2 Tamping Coffee

1. Place the portafilter on a flat, stable surface.
2. Utilitzeu la tamper to press the ground coffee firmly and evenly into the filter basket. Aim for a consistent, level surface.

5.3 Elaboració d'espresso

1. Insert the portafilter into the group head and twist it firmly to lock it into place.
2. Col·loqueu la tassa o tasses d'espresso sota els brocs del portafiltre.
3. Select your desired brew mode (single or double espresso) and temperature using the control panel buttons.
4. Press the start button to begin brewing. Monitor the pressure gauge to ensure optimal extraction (within the 'Espresso Range').

5.4 Llet fumejant

1. Fill the stainless-steel milk jug with cold milk, typically up to just below the spout.
2. Toggle the mode button to 'Steam'.
3. Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface, at a slight angle.
4. Activate the steam function. Move the jug to create a swirling motion, incorporating air to create microfoam. Continue until the jug is hot to the touch.
5. Turn off the steam function and wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp tela.

6. Manteniment

6.1 Neteja diària

• Portafiltres i filtres: After each use, remove the portafilter and discard used coffee grounds. Rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under hot water.

7. Solució De Problemes

If you encounter issues with your Smeg EGF03, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Espresso Flow: Check water tank level, ensure portafilter is correctly inserted, and verify coffee grind size and tamping pressure are appropriate.
