1. Introducció

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your BAOFENG BF-88A FRS Two-Way Radio. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper function and to prevent damage.

The BAOFENG BF-88A is a license-free FRS radio designed for reliable communication over short to medium distances. It features 16 channels, 38 CTCSS, 83 DCS sub-channels, and a compact design for ease of use.

1. Antena fixa: Per transmetre i rebre senyals.

5. Configuració

5.1 Instal·lació i càrrega de la bateria

The BF-88A uses a rechargeable 1500mAh Li-ion battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

1. Instal·la la bateria: Alineeu la bateria amb les ranures de la part posterior de la ràdio i feu-la lliscar cap amunt fins que encaixi al seu lloc.
2. Càrrega de la bateria:
   • Ús del carregador d'escriptori: Place the radio (with battery installed) into the desktop charging cradle. Connect the USB cable from the cradle to a USB power source. The LED on the charger will indicate charging status (usually red for charging, green for fully charged).
   • Ús del port USB-C: The battery itself has a Type-C port. You can directly connect a USB-C cable to the battery for charging without the desktop cradle.

5.2 Col·locació d'accessoris

• Clip de cinturó: Fixeu el clip del cinturó a la part posterior de la ràdio amb els cargols proporcionats.
• Corretja de mà: Passeu la corretja de mà per la nansa de la part superior o lateral de la ràdio.
• Auricular: Insert the earpiece plug into the SP/MIC jacks on the side of the radio.

6. Instruccions de funcionament

6.1 Engegada/Apagada i control de volum

Gira el Interruptor d'alimentació/Control de volum knob clockwise to turn the radio on. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and turn the radio off.

6.2 Selecció de canals

Gira el Canvi de canal knob to select one of the 16 available channels. A voice prompt will announce the selected channel number.

6.3 Transmissió i recepció

• Per transmetre: Manteniu premut el botó PTT (prem per parlar) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. The LED indicator will glow red.
• Per rebre: Allibera el PTT button. The radio will automatically switch to receive mode. The LED indicator will glow green when a signal is received.

6.4 Moni (Monitor) Button

Manteniu premut el botó Moni button to temporarily disable the squelch function. This allows you to listen to very weak signals or to monitor a channel for activity without a strong signal breaking the squelch.

6.5 Funció de llanterna

Premeu el botó Botó de funció (located below the Moni button) once to turn the flashlight on. Press it again to turn it off.

6.6 VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) Function

The BF-88A features an internal VOX function with 5 adjustable voice volume levels. This allows for hands-free transmission when using an earpiece.

To activate VOX: On channels 1-5, press the PTT button and the Moni button simultaneously, then turn on the radio's power switch. The radio will enter VOX mode. It is recommended to use headphones for optimal VOX performance.

7. Programació avançada

The BF-88A radio can be programmed via PC for customized settings. This requires a programming cable (sold separately) and specific software.

• Official BAOFENG Software: For official software, visit the BAOFENG website and search for the BF-88A/88E model programming software.
• Programari CHIRP: The radio also supports CHIRP quick programming. When using CHIRP, select "Baofeng" as the manufacturer and "BF-888" as the model.

Note: Incorrect programming may lead to improper radio operation or non-compliance with regulations. Proceed with caution.

8. Manteniment

8.1 Cura de la bateria

• No curtcircuiteu els terminals de la bateria.
• No llenceu les piles al foc.
• If the battery is not used for a long period, charge it to approximately 50% before storing it in a cool, dry place.
• Recicleu les piles usades d'acord amb la normativa local.

8.2 Neteja

Netegeu la superfície de la ràdio amb un drap suau iamp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the radio is turned off and dry before cleaning.
