DIRECTIVES PER A LA SEGURITAT
GAUDIU DE LA VOSTRA MÀQUINA DE LLANÇAMENT
Colpejar amb una màquina de llançar comporta un cert grau de risc; aquí teniu els nostres suggeriments per minimitzar aquest risc:
1) No utilitzeu mai aquesta màquina en condicions humides o mullades.
2) NO utilitzeu la màquina a temperatures inferiors a 40 °F ni superiors a 100 °F

4) Feu servir protecció ocular mentre alimenteu manualment.

7) DO NOT attempt to stop the wheel from rotating or touch anything to the wheels even after turning off the machine.
8) Place a protective screen in front of the machine to protect the machine and operator. The warranty does not cover damage from batted balls.
9) If any unusual or loud noises occur with the machine, disconnect the power immediately and discontinue use until the cause can be resolved. Contact Bata customer service: 800-762-2282.
10) Turn the machine OFF and wait for the wheel to stop rotating before making adjustments to the machine (other than speed and location).
ADVERTIMENT:
This machine is NOT guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Although each machine is thoroughly inspected and tested before leaving the factory, occasional errant pitches may occur (and should be expected). This can be due to balls in poor condition, moisture or debris, careless/negligent use, improper settings, improper maintenance, mechanical failure, or other factors.
Expect to have to react to errant pitches in the same way you would if you were batting off a real pitcher. It is important to make sure that all safety precautions are taken, and to instruct all participants on proper operating procedures and rules prior to use. It is your responsibility to make sure that your machine is maintained in proper operating condition.
DESEMCAIXANT LA MÀQUINA DE LLANÇAMENT

1) Remove the machine from the box. Lift the machine out of the box and set it to rest on the front guard of the machine that is connected to the fender.
2) If you ordered the Quick Release Leg Lock Kit with the machine, it has been factory installed. Slide each of the straight baseball legs or bent softball legs into the tripod base and secure them with the nuts and bolts provided or Quick Release Leg Lock Kit. Hold each leg with your hand as you tighten the nut. Tighten the nut or QRL handle until the leg will not rotate.
3) If you ordered the Transport Wheel Kit, you may install it now. Refer to the transport kit instructions (found on the weblloc).
4) If you ordered a baseball only machine, it is factory set for baseball. If you ordered a softball only ma-chine, it is factory set for softball. If you ordered a combo (baseball & softball) machine, it is factory set for baseball unless otherwise specified.
INSTRUCCIONS DE FUNCIONAMENT
Abans d'utilitzar la màquina, feu les comprovacions rutinàries següents per garantir un rendiment òptim.
1) La màquina està configurada al GAP correcte?

NOTA:
Hi ha un període de rodatge per a les rodes. Cal llançar 100 boles o més abans que la goma estigui adequadament desgastada. No llancis a batedors ni esperis que la màquina llanci amb precisió fins que les rodes estiguin rodades.
Com s'utilitza la màquina de llançament Bata 1.
1) Col·loca la màquina a la zona de llançament. Apunta-la visualment en direcció al home plate.
2) Choose the power source. Before plugging the machine into the power source, make sure that the speed control dial knob is in the OFF position. Plug a surge protector into the power source.
3) Start the machine by turning the speed control dial knob clockwise and set it at the chosen speed. (see speed control). Allow the wheel to get up to speed before pitching the first ball.

a) To adjust the height, loosen the height adjustment lock handle about 1 /4 turn and rotate the head of the machine up or down to change the location. Lock the handle.
b) To adjust the inside/outside location, loosen the lateral adjustment lock handle about 1 /4 turn and rotate the head of the machine side to side to change the location. Lock the handle.
7) Després de fixar la ubicació, llança almenys 10 boles per comprovar la ubicació abans de permetre que els batedors hi entrin.
NOTA:

MANTENIMENT

1) DO NOT use the machine in temperatures less than 40°F or more than 100°F. Extreme temperatures will affect the rubber tread on the pitching wheels and the motors.
2) Store the machine in a clean, dry place. If you choose to leave your machine outside in your batting cage, just make sure that it is covered well enough to keep it dry.
3) Keep the pitching wheels clean, dry, and free of debris. Residue from balls does not need to be re-moved unless it is affecting the pitching. If you do need to clean the rubber surface of the wheels, do not use any chemicals. Instead, use 60 grit sandpaper at a diagonal direction. DO NOT sand while the machine is running.
4) After a prolonged period of non-use, the rubber on the pitching wheels will become oxidized, making the rubber slick. This will affect the wheels ability to grip the ball and pitch it properly. You may need to scuff the rubber to get it back to a fresh rubber surface. Once the rubber scuffed, regular use will prevent oxidation.
5) Check the GAP between the pitching wheels. It is extremely important that the GAP is adjusted proper-ly for each type of ball (See GAP SELECTION).

CONVERSIÓ DE BÈISBOL A SOFTBOL

1) Lower the machine to the ground or lift off the head of the machine from the tripod and set on the ground.
2) Remove the baseball legs from the machine by using a wrench or quick release handles (sold sepa-rately).

6)Using a 1/2” wrench or impact loosen the two compression plate bolts above the control box (see im-age on page 9).
7) The holes have a very small adjustment range. The top of the holes are for leather balls and the bottom of the holes are for dimpled balls. Lift/lower the compression plate and tighten the bolts where you need based on the type of softball you are going to use.
8) Loosen the four motor mount bolts around the lower motor. You will feel the motor drop. While the motor is all the way down tighten the bolts. Now the gap between the wheels is set for softball.
9) After setting the speed and location, pitch at least 10 balls to check the speed and location before allowing batters to step in.

SELECCIÓ DE GAP

The two bolts for the compression plate are elongated to allow 2/10” of adjustment. As indicated, the upper end of the slots set the machine for LEATHER balls. The lower end of the slots set it for DIMPLED balls.

Mida del GAP
Si el GAP és massa gran, les rodes no agafaran la pilota prou fort per llançar-la amb precisió i consistència. Això fa que els llançaments de vegades no arribin al plat i/o no arribin a la zona de strike. Recomanem tancar el GAP aproximadament 1/16" cada vegada fins que obtingueu un llançament consistent. Les nostres màquines estan dissenyades i calibrades per llançar pilotes amb clotets i pilotes de cuir reglamentàries. Si voleu llançar boles de softbol de 11 polzades a més de 40 mph, potser haureu de reduir la SEPARACIÓ utilitzant la configuració de SOFTBALL AMB CLOUS. NO LLANCEU BOLES DE 12 POLLADA AMB LA SEPARACIÓ A AQUESTA AMPLDADA. Es faran malbé els motors.
NOTA: La canaleta d'alimentació i les potes també s'han de canviar si es canvia de beisbol a softbol o viceversa.

After a lot of use, you will notice a “concave dip” being worn into the rubber on the wheel.
This is normal wear and tear. As the dip becomes deeper, the GAP becomes larger. There may come a time when you will need to make adjustments to the machine to shorten the GAP. How much can the wheel wear before you have to adjust the GAP? That depends on how fast you’re pitching the ball. At lower speeds, a wider GAP will still work. At higher speeds, too large of a GAP will allow inconsistent pitching.
To measure the GAP, take a ruler or tape measure and measure from the edge of the wheel to the compres-sion pad at the closest point. When the wheel is new, this measurement will be about 2-5/16” (with the GAP at the factory baseball setting), or 3-3/16” (at the factory softball setting). When the wheel is worn, you must do a calculation to determine the ideal GAP. The ideal GAP will be the average between the measure-ment at the edge of the wheel and the bottom of the concave dip.

Occasionally you will need to check the position of the wheels on the motor shaft. This is very important for two reasons. First, the wheel must be positioned properly so that it is centered to the feed chute. Sec-ond, if the wheel is not properly positioned, the hub of the wheel may rub against the motor bolts, which can cause damage to the machine.
Per corregir-ho, amb una clau Allen de 3/16", afluixeu (no traieu) el cargol de fixació aproximadament mitja volta. Feu lliscar la roda cap enrere a la posició correcta amb aproximadament 1/32" - 1/16" de l'extrem de l'eix del motor sobresortint de l'exterior del cub de la roda i estrenyeu el cargol de fixació. RESOLUCIÓ DE PROBLEMES

PROBLEMA 1: El motor no s'engega.
SOLUCIÓ 1: Comproveu que la connexió endollable (màquines del 2010 i posteriors) entre el motor i la caixa de control de velocitat estigui connectada correctament.
SOLUCIÓ 2: Comproveu les escombretes del motor.
Les escombretes no són realment escombretes. Són un conjunt que consisteix en una petita pestanya metàl·lica, connectada a una petita peça rectangular de carboni mitjançant una molla i un cable prim. La molla ha d'alimentar la "escombreta" de carboni a la part del motor que gira a l'interior. Això li proporciona connexió elèctrica. Si el bloc de carboni no s'alimenta fàcilment a l'armadura, el circuit s'interromp. Això pot ser causat pel fet que el bloc de carboni es quedi penjat a la presa, cosa que pot ser causada per fricció.
To check the brushes, first unscrew the small cap that has the screwdriver slot. The first thing you will see is the metal tab. Using a very small screwdriver, lift the metal tab up until you can get it to pop up enough to get your fingers on it. Pull the brush assembly out of the socket by the metal tab.
El conjunt hauria de lliscar fàcilment dins i fora del sòcol. Si hi ha fricció, això faria que el bloc de carboni no s'alimentés correctament. En aquest cas, la solució més fàcil és polir molt lleugerament el costat del bloc de carboni amb paper de vidre molt fi (gra 400).

SOLUCIÓ 3: Remove the cover of the speed control box and check the con-nections.
Gently tug on each wire connection to make sure that there are no loose wires. Gently wiggle each con-nection on the circuit board to see if any of the soldered connectors have broken loose from the circuit board. If so, the circuit board needs to be replaced.
SOLUCIÓ 4: Comproveu la resistència HP.
Per a màquines (2023 i posteriors), comproveu que els punts de soldadura estiguin intactes. Si no estan intactes, necessitareu una nova caixa de circuits. La resistència HP es connecta a la placa de circuit en dos petits endolls. De vegades, la resistència es pot afluixar o sortir completament dels endolls. Si està fora dels endolls, torneu-la a empènyer. Comenceu-la amb els dits i premeu cap avall a cada extrem de la resistència on estan soldats els cables. Feu una mica a cada extrem fins que estigui completament dins. Comproveu molt de prop si els cables petits que surten de cada extrem de la resistència estan intactes o trencats. Si estan trencats, o si el bloc està trencat, cal substituir la resistència HP.
SOLUCIÓ 5: Comproveu si hi ha zones cremades al conjunt de la placa de circuits.
Si hi ha zones cremades, és probable que el controlador de velocitat s'hagi danyat per una sobrecàrrega. En aquest cas, cal substituir la caixa de control.
NOTA: Podeu evitar danys per sobretensions utilitzant un protector contra sobretensions.
SOLUCIÓ 6: Comproveu si hi ha danys per aigua.
Si la màquina s'ha mullat, pot ser que el circuit hagi patit danys per aigua. De vegades, podeu bufar la humitat amb una mànega d'aire i s'assecarà prou per tornar a funcionar, de vegades no. Si hi ha danys per aigua, probablement vol dir que haureu de substituir la caixa de control.
PROBLEMA 2: La velocitat del motor fluctua o funciona a tota velocitat tot el temps
SOLUCIÓ 1: El més probable és que sigui un mal funcionament de la placa de circuits.
PROBLEMA 3: La roda ha deixat de girar o fa un soroll de grinyol.
SOLUCIÓ 1: Comproveu la posició de la roda a l'eix del motor (vegeu la pàgina 9)
