DIRECTIVES PER A LA SEGURITAT

GAUDIU DE LA VOSTRA MÀQUINA DE LLANÇAMENT
Colpejar amb una màquina de llançar comporta un cert grau de risc; aquí teniu els nostres suggeriments per minimitzar aquest risc:

Expect to have to react to errant pitches in the same way you would if you were batting of a real pitcher. It is important to make sure that all safety precautions are taken, and to instruct all participants on proper operating procedures and rules prior to use. It is your responsibility to make sure that your machine is maintained in proper operating condition.

DESEMCAIXANT LA MÀQUINA DE LLANÇAMENT

Com desembalar i configurar la teva màquina de llançar per primera vegada.

2. If you ordered the Quick Release Leg Lock Kit with the machine, it can now be installed. Slide each of the straight baseball legs or bent softball legs into the tripod base and secure them with the nuts and bolts provided or Quick Release Leg Lock Kit. Hold each leg with your hand as you tighten the nut.
3. Tighten the nut or QRL handle until the leg will not rotate. If you ordered the Transport Wheel Kit, you may install it now.
4. Your machine is factory set for baseball. If you ordered a softball only machine, you will need to adjust your machine to the softball settings.

INSTRUCCIONS DE FUNCIONAMENT

Abans d'utilitzar la màquina, feu les comprovacions rutinàries següents per garantir un rendiment òptim.

1. La màquina està configurada al GAP correcte?

   Comproveu la distància del GAP per assegurar-vos que sigui correcta abans de llançar:

Com s'utilitza la màquina de llançament Bata 2.

1. Col·loca la màquina a la zona de llançament. Apunta-la visualment en direcció al home plate.
2. Trieu la font d'alimentació. Abans d'endollar la màquina a la font d'alimentació, assegureu-vos que els botons de control de velocitat estiguin a la posició OFF. Connecteu un protector contra sobretensions a la font d'alimentació.
3. Engegueu la màquina girant els botons de control de velocitat en sentit horari i configureu-los a la velocitat escollida. Deixeu que la roda agafi velocitat abans de llançar la primera bola.
4. No permetis que ningú s'acosti encara a la base de home.
5. Introduïu una bola a la boca d'alimentació.
6.  Ajusteu la ubicació amunt, avall, a l'interior o a l'exterior segons calgui.
   • Per ajustar l'alçada, afluixeu la maneta de bloqueig de l'ajust d'alçada aproximadament 1/4 de volta i gireu el capçal de la màquina amunt o avall per canviar la ubicació. Per canviar la ubicació amb precisió, moveu la maneta de microajust vertical a l'esquerra o a la dreta. Bloquegeu la maneta.
   • Per ajustar la ubicació interior/exterior, afluixeu la maneta de bloqueig d'ajust lateral aproximadament 1/4 de volta i gireu el capçal de la màquina cap a un costat i l'altre per canviar la ubicació. Per canviar la ubicació amb precisió, moveu la maneta de microajust horitzontal cap a l'esquerra o la dreta. Bloquegeu la maneta.
   • Per ajustar l'angle de lliurament, afluixeu la maneta de bloqueig d'inclinació aproximadament ¼ de volta i inclineu el capçal de la màquina a la posició desitjada.
7.  Després de fixar la ubicació, llança almenys 10 boles per comprovar la ubicació abans de permetre que els batedors hi entrin.

NOTA:
Hi haurà alguna variació d'un camp a un altre a causa de les mateixes pilotes. No ajusteu la ubicació del camp a un altre tret que estigui desviat significativament.

CONVERSIÓ DE BÈISBOL A SOFTBOL

Com canviar la teva màquina de beisbol a softbol.

1. Baixeu la màquina a terra o aixequeu el capçal de la màquina del trípode i col·loqueu-la a terra.
2. Remove the baseball legs from the machine by using a wrench or quick release handles (sold separately).
3. Fixeu les potes de softbol i torneu a aixecar la màquina.
4. Traieu la boca d'alimentació de la màquina afluixant els botons.
5. Substitueix la canonada d'alimentació per la versió de softbol més gran.
6. Amb una clau anglesa de 1/2 polzada o una clau d'impacte, afluixeu els cargols del muntatge del motor superior esquerre i inferior dret al voltant del motor superior. Traieu els cargols superior dret i inferior esquerre. Notareu que el motor cau.
7. Lift the motor up and replace the bolts in the upper hole. The upper holes of the top wheel have a very small adjustment range. The top of the hole is for leather softballs and the bottom of the hole is for dimpled softballs. Tighten the bolts where you need  based on the type of softball you are going to use.
8. Afloixeu els quatre cargols del suport del motor al voltant de la part inferior del motor. Notareu que el motor cau. Mentre el motor està completament avall, estrenyeu els cargols. Ara la separació entre les rodes està configurada per al softbol.

NOTA:
If the balls are coming out of the machine slowly and/or pitching inconsistently that usually means the wheels are not set at the correct GAP. As you use the machine your wheels will wear down making the gap wider. You will need to make adjustments to your machine over time. It can also be due to using too soft of a ball. Smash balls have a 20% reduced speed compared to regular baseballs.

COM INSTAL·LAR LES RODES DE TRANSPORT

Com instal·lar i utilitzar les rodes de transport a la màquina de llançament Bata 2.

1. Inseriu cadascun dels quatre cargols hexagonals de 5/16 x 1" A a través del bastidor de la màquina amb els caps dels cargols a la part posterior de la placa i els extrems roscats que es mostren a la part frontal de la màquina.

CONTROL DE VELOCITAT

How to control the speed of your pitching machine

La velocitat del llançament serà aproximadament la mitjana del valor dels dos dials. Si suposem que cada número del dial representa 100 quilòmetres per hora, la velocitat màxima, amb els dos dials a 10, serà d'uns 10 km/h. (No configureu els dos dials a 10. ANGLES DE LLIURAMENT

ANGLES DE LLIURAMENT DE BÈISBOL
Després d'inclinar el capçal a l'angle de lliurament desitjat, afluixeu els quatre botons que mantenen la canaleta d'alimentació al seu lloc. Gireu la canaleta d'alimentació per assegurar-vos que teniu un aliment anivellat. Estrenyeu els botons.

• Overhand: The standard Fastball angle. With the head in this position, the spin will be straight.

• Curveball: Set the top motor speed a lot faster the bottom motor speed. (10:1 – 2:1)

• Knuckleball: Set both motor speeds at the same setting. 6 on each dial should be the maximum speed on knuckleballs.
• Split-finger: Set the top motor speed just slightly faster or slightly slower than the bottom motor speed, depending on how much “sink” you want. (6:5 – 5:6)
• 3/4 Left hand: Use this angle to throw tailing fastballs, sliders, and 3/4 curves from a lefthanded pitcher.
• Sidearm: Use this angle to throw pitches that have a lot of side break. Set the motor speeds so that the ball breaks to the slower wheel. For exampÉs a dir, si teniu la velocitat del motor dret a 9 i la velocitat del motor esquerre a 5, la pilota es trencarà cap a l'esquerra (el costat amb la velocitat del motor més lenta).
• 3/4 Righthand: Use this angle to throw tailing fastballs, sliders, and 3/4 curves from a righthanded pitcher.

MANTENIMENT

1. DO NOT use the machine in temperatures less than 40°F or more than 100°F. Extreme temperatures will affect the pitching wheels and the motors.

3. Keep the pitching wheels clean, dry, and free of debris. Residue from balls does not need to be re-moved unless it is affecting the pitching. Use acetone to clean the polyurethane wheel surface.
4. It is extremely important that the GAP is adjusted properly for each type of ball (See GAP SELECTION). Verify your wheel GAP settings before operating your machine. Although rare, wheel spacing can shift during shipping. All machines are preset for baseball, so you will need to adjust the wheel spacing if you plan to use the machine for softball.

SELECCIÓ DE GAP

The term “GAP” refers to the space between the pitching wheels. This machine will throw different
types and sizes of balls. However, a different GAP is required for each. For exampés a dir, una pilota de softbol requereix un GAP més gran que una pilota de beisbol. No cal canviar el GAP gaire sovint, si és que cal, tret que tingueu previst utilitzar diferents tipus de pilotes.
Per exampÉs a dir, si només llançareu pilotes de beisbol de cuir, podeu deixar el GAP a la configuració de fàbrica. Si llançareu pilotes de beisbol i softbol, haureu de canviar el GAP per a cada tipus de pilota.

Eines necessàries:
Clau de tub o de caixa de 1/2"

• Les ranures dels cargols del muntatge del motor superior són allargades per permetre un ajust de 2/10". • When pitching at faster speeds, or when using softer balls, adjustment may be required. Using too soft of a ball, even with adjustment, can cause the speed to change. For example, Smash Balls have a 20% reduced speed compared to regular baseballs.
  NOTA: The upper mount MUST be set in the-LEATHER position when pitching real leather balls, for either baseball or softball. Pitching leather balls with it in the DIMPLED position will damage the machine.

Keep your operating manual for future reference. If, at some point, the pitching wheels have worn significantly you may experience inconsistent or errant pitching. The following information may help you troubleshoot.

Mida del GAP

NO LLANCEU BOLES DE 12 POLLADA AMB LA SEPARACIÓ A AQUESTA AMPLDADA. Es faran malbé els motors.

NOTA: La canaleta d'alimentació i les potes també s'han de canviar si es canvia de beisbol a softbol o viceversa.

MESURA DE LA DISTÀNCIA AMB RODES DESGASTADES

Important information about the gap between the wheels when the wheels are worn.

After a lot of use, you will notice a “concave dip” being worn into the rubber on the wheel. This is normal wear and tear. As the dip becomes deeper, the GAP be-comes larger. There may come a time when you will need to make adjustments to the machine to shorten the GAP. How much can the wheel wear before you have to adjust the GAP? That depends on how fast you’re pitching the ball. At lower speeds, a wider GAP will still work. At higher speeds, too large of a GAP will allow inconsistent pitching.

To measure the GAP, take a ruler or tape measure and measure from the edge of the wheel to the other wheel at the closest point. When the wheel is new, this measurement will be about 2-5/16” (with the GAP at the factory baseball setting), or 3-3/16” (at the factory softball setting). When the wheel is worn, you must do a calculation to determine the ideal GAP. The ideal GAP will be the average between the measurement at the edge of the wheel and the bot-tom of the concave dip.

Per exampel, if the wheel has 3/8” of wear, divide the total wear (3/8”) by 2, that gives you 3/16“. So, you would need to reduce the GAP by a total of 3/16”.

POSICIÓ DE LA RODA

Important information about the position of the wheel on the motor shaft. Occasionally you will need to check the position of the wheels on the motor shaft. This is very important for two reasons. First, the wheel must be positioned properly so that it is centered to the feed chute. Second, if the wheel is not properly positioned, the hub of the wheel may rub against the motor bolts, which can cause damage to the machine.

Per corregir-ho, amb una clau Allen de 3/16", afluixeu (no traieu) el cargol de fixació aproximadament mitja volta. PROBLEMA 1: Motor will not turn on.

SOLUCIÓ 1: Comproveu que la connexió endollable (màquines del 2010 i posteriors) entre el motor i la caixa de control de velocitat estigui connectada correctament.

SOLUCIÓ 2: Revisa les escombretes del motor.

• Les escombretes no són realment escombretes. Són un conjunt que consisteix en una petita pestanya metàl·lica, connectada a una petita peça rectangular de carboni mitjançant una molla i un cable prim. La molla ha d'alimentar la "escombreta" de carboni a la part del motor que gira a l'interior. Això li proporciona connexió elèctrica. Si el bloc de carboni no s'alimenta fàcilment a l'armadura, el circuit s'interromp. Això pot ser causat pel fet que el bloc de carboni es quedi penjat a la presa, cosa que pot ser causada per fricció.
• To check the brushes, first unscrew the small cap that has the screwdriver slot. The first thing you will see is the metal tab. Using a very small screwdriver, lift the metal tab up until you can get it to pop up enough to get your fi ngers on it. Pull the brush assembly out of the socket by the metal tab.
• The assembly should slide in and out of the socket easily. If there is any friction, this would cause the carbon block to not feed in properly. In this case, the easiest solution is to very lightly sand the side of the carbon block with very fi ne sandpaper (400 grit).  Lay the sandpaper down on a flat surface and lightly drag the carbon block over it one time. Check the fi t. Repeat if necessary.
• Quan el conjunt de raspalls estigui fora, comproveu que la molla i el cable no estiguin trencats. Si ho estan, cal substituir el raspall.

SOLUCIÓ 3: Traieu la tapa de la caixa de control de velocitat i comproveu les connexions.
Estireu suaument cada connexió de cable per assegurar-vos que no hi hagi cables solts. Moveu suaument cada connexió de la placa de circuit per veure si algun dels connectors soldats s'ha desprès de la placa de circuit. Si és així, cal substituir la placa de circuit.

SOLUCIÓ 4: Comproveu la resistència HP.

For machines (2023 and newer) check to make sure the solder points are intact. If they are not intact you will need a new circuit box. The HP resistor actually plugs into the circuit board into two tiny sockets. Sometimes the resistor can get knocked loose or out of the sockets completely. If it is out of the sockets, push it back in. Get it started with your fingers and push down on each end of the resistor where the wires are soldered. Do a little on each end at a time until it is all the way in. Check very closely to see if the small wires that come out of each end of the resistor are intact or broken. If they are broken, or if the block is broken, the HP resistor needs to be replaced .

SOLUCIÓ 5: Comproveu si hi ha zones cremades al conjunt de la placa de circuits.
Si hi ha zones cremades, és probable que el controlador de velocitat s'hagi danyat per una sobrecàrrega. En aquest cas, cal substituir la caixa de control.
NOTA: Podeu evitar danys per sobretensions utilitzant un protector contra sobretensions.

SOLUCIÓ 6: Comproveu si hi ha danys per aigua.
Si la màquina s'ha mullat, pot ser que el circuit hagi patit danys per aigua. De vegades, podeu bufar la humitat amb una mànega d'aire i s'assecarà prou per tornar a funcionar, de vegades no. Si hi ha danys per aigua, probablement vol dir que haureu de substituir la caixa de control.
