Controls WAVES

1. FREQUENCY RANGE – use this button to select the central frequency range of the control (7):
   1. Green – 1/8 Hz
   2. Orange – 2 Hz
      Red – 131 Hz
      El LED envoltant s'il·luminarà amb el color corresponent.
2. RELATIONSHIP – use this button to set the relationship between the four CV outputs (22 – 25): Off – the four outputs produce different waveforms, with control 16 acting as an attenuverter on Output 1.
   1. Output 1 – Triangle wave, affected by all controls
   2. Output 2 – Triangle wave, affected by all controls
   3. Output 3 – Pulse Wave, with PWM coming from the SLOPE control
   4. Output 4 – Square wave
      Green – Control 16 sets a crossfade between the four outputs.
      Orange – Control 16 offsets the peaks of the outputs.
      Red – Control 16 adjusts the ratios of the outputs. At 12 o’clock all follow the frequency set by control 7, turning clockwise (CW) increases the frequencies of outputs 23 – 25, turning counter-clockwise (CCW) decreases them.

3. MODE – use this button to select the working mode: Green – unipolar one-shot AD envelope,  with a range of 0 V to +8 V.
   Orange – bipolar cyclic LFO/VCO, with a range of  – 5 V to +5 V.
   Red – unipolar one-shot ASR envelope, with a range of 0 V to +8 V.

4. SLOPE – use this control to adjust the shape of
   the rising and falling waveform. Fully CCW gives a sawtooth wave, 12 o’clock a triangle wave and fully CW a ramp onada.
5. SLOPE CV ATTENUVERTER – use this control to attenuate (CW) or invert (CCW) external control voltage of the SLOPE from socket 6.
6.  SLOPE CV – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to control the SLOPE via an external CV, in the range -8 V to +8 V.
7. FREQUENCY – use this control to set the base frequency at which the WAVES works, in conjunction with button 1. The range is -4 octaves to +4 octaves, centered on the frequency selected..
8. FREQUENCY CV ATTENUVERTER – use this control to attenuate (CW) or invert (CCW) external control voltage of the FREQUENCY from socket 9.
9. FREQUENCY CV – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to control the FREQUENCY via an external CV, in the range – 8 V to +8 V.
10. SMOOTHNESS – use this control to set the smoothness of the output waveforms. Turing the control CCW applies a low pass filter, which smooths the waveform out. CW processes the wave using a wavefolder, which adds peaks and troughs to the output.
11. SMOOTHNESS CV ATTENUVERTER – use this control to attenuate (CW) or invert (CCW) external control voltage of the SMOOTHNESS from socket 12.
12. SMOOTHNESS CV – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to control the SMOOTHNESS via an external CV, in the range -8 V to +8 V.
13. SHAPE – use this control to set the shape of the output waveforms. Fully CCW gives a smoothed wave with a long attack and short decay/release. As the control is turned CW towards 12 o’clock the shape sharpens until at 12 o’clock it is a perfect wave, depending on the SLOPE settings. Turning further CW smooths the wave out, with the bias being towards the decay/release portion.
14. SHAPE CV ATTENUVERTER – use this control to attenuate (CW) or invert (CCW) external control voltage de la FORMA del sòcol 15.
15. SHAPE CV – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to control the SHAPE via an external CV, in the range -8 V to +8 V.
16. SHIFT/LEVEL – use this control to set the amplitude and polarity of output 22 when the mode is OFF; otherwise use it to adjust the offsets of outputs  25 in relation to output 22.
17. SHIFT/LEVEL CV ATTENUVERTER – use this control to attenuate (CW) or invert (CCW) external control voltage del SHIFT/LEVEL del sòcol 15.
18.  SHIFT/LEVEL CV – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to control the SHIFT/LEVEL via an external CV, in the range – 8 V to +8 V.
19. VOLT/OCTAVE – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to track the FREQUENCY using an external volt/octave source, such as the Behringer SWING keyboard. Range is- 3 V to +5 V.
20. TRIG – the use of this 3.5 mm TS jack socket depends on the mode selected:
    Green (AD envelope) – envelope will be triggered and run through its full cycle.
    Orange (LFO) – the LFO waveshape will be reset. Red (ASR envelope) – the attack portion will initiate with the start of the trigger, and hold until the trigger ends, at which point the release portion will occur.
21. CLOCK – use this 3.5 mm TS jack socket to clock the frequency from an external source. When this is in use the FREQUENCY control (7) controls the clock division/  multiplication.
22. OUTPUTS – these 3.5 mm TS jack sockets carry the outputs of the WAVES. 22 is the main output,   with 23 – 25 derived from it according to the control settings.

CALIBRACIÓ

Should it become necessary to calibrate the WAVES please follow this procedure:

1. Disconnect all inputs except for a CV keyboard or MIDI/CV converter to the volt/octave input (19).
2. Press buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously. The LED surround of button 1 will flash orange.
3. Use the keyboard or MIDI/CV converter to send 1 volt to the volt/octave input.
4. Press any button. The LED surround of button 2 will flash orange.
5. Send 3 volts to the volt/octave input.
6. Press any button to end calibration. WAVES will return to normal.

ACTUALITZACIÓ DEL FIRMWARE

Com que el WAVES no té una presa USB, el seu firmware s'ha d'actualitzar mitjançant un dispositiu d'àudio. fileSi us plau, seguiu aquest procediment:

1. Download the new firmware from the product page of the Behringer weblloc i carregar-lo en un reproductor d'àudio, com ara un ordinador portàtil amb el programari adequat.
2. Connect the audio player to the SLOPE CV input (6), while the WAVES is unpowered.
3. Adjust the audio output of the player to about 75% of maximum.
4. Set the SLOPE control (4) to around 12 o’clock.
5. Power up the WAVES while pressing button 1.
6. Reprodueix l'àudio fileEl LED del voltant del botó 1 s'il·luminarà en taronja si el nivell d'àudio és òptim. Si és massa baix, tots els LED parpellejaran. El guany es pot ajustar amb el control SLOPE. L'actualització es pot interrompre prement el botó 3.
7. If the firmware has updated successfully the WAVES will return to normal when the audio files acaba. Si no, ajusteu el nivell i torneu-ho a intentar.

Connexió d'alimentació

El mòdul inclou el cable d’alimentació necessari per connectar-se a un sistema d’alimentació estàndard Eurorack. Seguiu aquests passos per connectar l'alimentació al mòdul. És més fàcil fer aquestes connexions abans de muntar el mòdul en una caixa de rack.

1. Apagueu la font d'alimentació o la caixa del bastidor i desconnecteu el cable d'alimentació.
2. Introduïu el connector de 16 pins del cable d'alimentació a la presa de la font d'alimentació o a la caixa del bastidor. El connector té una pestanya que s’alinea amb l’espai del sòcol, de manera que no es pot inserir incorrectament. Si la font d'alimentació no té cap endoll amb clau, assegureu-vos d'orientar el pin 1 (-12 V) amb la banda vermella del cable.
3. Inseriu el connector de 10 pins a l'endoll de la part posterior del mòdul. El connector té una pestanya que s'alinearà amb l'endoll per a una orientació correcta.
4. Després que els dos extrems del cable d'alimentació s'hagin connectat de manera segura, podeu muntar el mòdul en una funda i encendre la font d'alimentació.

Instal·lació

Els cargols necessaris s’inclouen amb el mòdul per muntar-los en una funda Eurorack. Connecteu el cable d'alimentació abans de muntar-lo.
Depenent de la caixa del bastidor, pot haver-hi una sèrie de forats fixos separats entre 2 CV al llarg de la caixa o una pista que permeti que les plaques roscades individuals llisquin al llarg de la caixa. Les plaques roscades de moviment lliure permeten un posicionament precís del mòdul, però cada placa s'ha de situar en relació aproximada amb els forats de muntatge del mòdul abans de fixar els cargols.
Mantingueu el mòdul contra els rails Eurorack de manera que cadascun dels forats de muntatge estigui alineat amb un carril roscat o una placa roscada. Col·loqueu els cargols parcialment per començar, cosa que permetrà fer petits ajustaments al posicionament mentre els alinéu tots. Un cop establerta la posició final, estreneu els cargols.
