• The ICX2.1 Insert Computer integrates our well-known and proven analog circuitry with a computer-interface to take it to the next level. The X in ICX2.1 stands for XLR, meaning that inputs, outputs and all 6 inserts make use of gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors.
• The ICX2.1 can be controlled using the intuitive and classy front-panel, as well as through the use of a VST3/AU plugin, which allows you to save and automate settings while even multiple units can be stacked using this plugin. With the built-in Ethernet interface, you can easily connect the ICX2.1 to your existing network.

Funcionament

• The ICX2.1 can be used in standalone mode with the elegant and user-friendly front-panel or in combination with our VST3/AU plugin which also allows you to save and automate settings.
• The easy-to-read display will show the selected inserts order, values for input, blend, MS width and output gains. The programmable insert names will also be briefly shown (in the centre of the display) when an insert is activated or de-activated.
• Names can be programmed using the plugin (explained further along this manual) and will be saved in the EEPROM.

Selecció d'entrada:
The ICX2.1 has 2 stereo inputs with gold-plated XLR’s which are fully passive when the active input gain is not activated. You can choose between the 2 inputs by pushing the corresponding button.  It’s possible to use both inputs at the same time, but keep in mind that this could cause some impedance mismatches causing level drops and/or change in sound.

• Guany actiu:
  Si premeu el codificador d'entrada, activareu el guany actiu stage que us permet canviar el guany d'entrada al vostre gust. Podeu canviar el guany en 0.1 dB per pas amb un rang de guany de +/- 10 dB. El valor es mostrarà a la pantalla central. El valor canviat es mostrarà en verd durant 2 segons i després tornarà a blau.
• Canvi de polaritat:
  Quan premeu el botó de polaritat, s'intercanviarà la polaritat de L i R. De vegades, canviar la polaritat donarà una millor resposta de fase. En la majoria dels casos, no cal canviar la polaritat, però en els casos en què ho desitgeu, aquesta funció és molt útil. Tingueu en compte que aquesta funció només funciona amb senyals d'entrada equilibrats.
• Canvia L/R:
  Quan premeu el botó d'intercanvi l/r, els canals esquerre i dret s'intercanviaran. De vegades, això treurà a la superfície coses que abans no us heu adonat a causa del nou enfocament d'escolta.

Insercions

Botons i etiquetes:

• All 6 inserts are passive with just relays, except for insert 4/5 which can also be used in active mid/side mode. All active circuits rely on transparent circuitry but will be fully passive when not engaged. All inserts make use of gold-plated XLR connectors.
• The push-buttons can be labelled to your liking by typing in names using the VST3/AU plugin and will be stored in the ICX2.1 EEPROM. The name will be shown on the centre of the display for 2 seconds. The switch itself will also turn green when an insert is active. The insert order will be shown on the top row of the display. (for instance, 1-2-3-5-4-6)

Inserir 1 i 2:
Aquesta és una secció d'inserció 100% passiva amb només relés. Quan està desactivat, passarà directament el senyal internament al s següenttage. Quan habiliteu la inserció (1 i/o 2), passarà el senyal a l'enviament/retorn corresponent. Primer passarà la inserció 1 i després passarà a la inserció 2. Quan premeu el botó d'intercanvi 1/2, canviarà l'ordre de les insercions. Així, en lloc d'1>2, l'ordre es convertirà en 2>1.

Inserció 3:
Aquesta és una secció d'inserció 100% passiva amb només relés. Quan està desactivat, passarà directament el senyal internament al s següenttage. When you enable the insert, it will pass the signal to the corresponding send/return.

Inserció 4 i 5 (mig/costat):

• Les insercions 5 i 6 es poden utilitzar per al processament mitjà/lateral (MS).
• Quan s'estableix en estèreo (MS apagat), serà 100% passiu, quan s'estableix a MS, passarà el circuit mitjà/lateral actiu.
• When you push the swap 4/5 button, it will swap the order of the inserts. So instead of 4>5 the order will become 5>4.

Part central:
Quan el botó central està activat, les dues insercions 4 i 5 funcionaran en mode MS. El canal esquerre és mitjà (suma), el canal dret és lateral (diferència).

• El botó central/lateral també actua com un botó per entrar al menú d'usuari; vegeu la secció del menú d'usuari d'aquest manual per obtenir més informació.
• Amplada:
  When you push the width encoder, the width circuit becomes active and you can change the gain of the side channel and so, making it more wide or narrow. The width gain range is +/-10dB in 0.1dB per step. We chose to use a dedicated width enable button for A/B purposes.

• Silència mitjà/lateral:
  Els botons laterals de silenci i mig us permetran silenciar el mig o el costat perquè pugueu escoltar només la suma (mitjana) o la diferència (costat).
• Quan no utilitzeu les insercions 5 i/o 6, encara podeu fer ús de la funcionalitat mitjana/lateral. Quan el botó mitjà/lateral està activat, passa pel circuit MS actiu. D'aquesta manera podeu canviar el guany del canal lateral i també podeu escoltar el canal mitjà o lateral mitjançant els botons de silenci.
• Inserció 6
  La inserció 6 és una secció d'inserció 100% passiva amb només relés. Amb la inserció 6 podeu canviar l'ordre de la inserció 6 de la inserció 6 a la preinserció 1. Quan premeu el botó pre 6, això és el que passarà:
  • pre 6 off: inputs > 1>2>—>5>6> outputs
  • pre 6 on: inputs > 6>1>2>—>5> outputs

Sortida

• The ICX2.1 has 2 stereo outputs with gold-plated XLR’s which is fully passive when the active output gain is not activated. You can choose between the 2 outputs by selecting the corresponding button.
• És possible utilitzar les dues sortides al mateix temps, però tingueu en compte que això podria provocar alguns desajustos d'impedància que causen caigudes de nivell i/o canvis de so.
• Guany actiu:
  Si premeu l'encoder de la sortida 1 o de la sortida 2, activareu el guany actiu stage per a la sortida corresponent que us permet canviar el guany de sortida al vostre gust. Podeu canviar el guany en 0.1 dB per pas amb un rang de guany de +/- 10 dB. El valor es mostrarà a la pantalla. El valor canviat es mostrarà en verd durant 2 segons i després tornarà a blau.
• Insereix bypass:
  Quan premeu el botó de bypass ins, totes les insercions seran ignorades i el botó començarà a parpellejar juntament amb tots els botons d'inserció.
• Guany de derivació:
  Quan premeu el botó de compensació de guany de bp, totes les insercions seran ignorades i començaran a parpellejar per obtenir comentaris visuals. Al costat d'això, el guany de bypass s'activarà (per a ambdues sortides). El guany de bypass es pot utilitzar per compensar la pèrdua de guany de les insercions anul·lades de manera que pugueu fer un AB de nivell coincident entre la font i el mestre amb només prémer un sol botó. El rang de guany de bypass és de +/- 10 dB en 0.1 dB per pas que es mostra en groc a la pantalla.
• Funció:
  El botó de funció es pot utilitzar per restaurar una de les 10 instantànies del connector directament des del tauler frontal que s'han desat prèviament al connector. Premeu el botó de "funció" (el botó començarà a parpellejar) i després premeu el botó d'inserció 1-9 i durant 10 seleccioneu pre-9. Aquesta funció només funciona quan hi ha instantànies desades al connector. Vegeu la secció de connectors per obtenir més informació.

S'afegiran més funcionalitats al botó de funció amb futures actualitzacions.

Menú d’usuari

• Podeu entrar al menú d'usuari mantenint premut el botó central/menú durant 2 segons.
• Mitjançant l'ús del codificador d'amplada/menú, podeu desplaçar-vos pels diferents elements del menú i prement el codificador entrareu al submenú o confirmeu una configuració.

Menú de configuració:

Visualització:
Mostra les etiquetes us permet activar o desactivar les etiquetes dels botons d'inserció. El valor predeterminat està habilitat.

Xarxa:

Mode: change network from DHCP to static (manual IP setup)

• IP: estableix l'adreça IP (per exemple, 192.168.1.100)
• Màscara de xarxa: estableix una submàscara (per exemple, 255.255.255.0)
• Passarel·la: estableix la passarel·la (per exemple, 192.168.1.1)
• DNS: estableix el DNS (per exemple, 192.168.1.10)
• Recall on startup: enables or disables last settings state (inserts, gains etc) Default is enabled.
• Restabliment de fàbrica:
  Esborra la memòria i torna a la configuració inicial (també es pot esborrar de fàbrica mantenint premut el botó d'inserció 1 durant l'arrencada)
• Estat:
  Mostra l'adreça IP actual (DHCP o estàtica)
• Sortir del menú:
  Surt del menú i torna a l'estat predeterminat.

Panell posterior

• Entrades:
  The ICX2.1 has two set of stereo balanced inputs (right side) with gold-plated Neutrik XLR’s.
• Insercions:
  The ICX2.1 has 6 stereo balanced inserts with gold-plated Neutrik XLR’s.
• Sortida:
  L'IC2.1 té 2 conjunts de sortides equilibrades estèreo (costat esquerre) amb neutrik XLR xapat en or.
• Xarxa:
  The ICX2.1 is using IP based RJ45 ethernet connection (100 mbit) for automation and recall.
• USB:
  Firmware updates are done via USB, but also needs an ethernet connection.

Actualitzacions de connectors i firmware

Complement:

• The ICX2.1 can be controlled using the intuitive front panel, but it’s also possible to control and save settings by making use of our VST3/AU plugin. To make thing easy to read and control, the plugin has the same layout as the front-panel. The ICX2.1 connects to your existing network using a standard ethernet port (DHCP or fixed IP) or via a standard USB connection. The plugin will auto-detect the connected ICX2.1. The plugin is also used for firmware updates.
• Per descomptat, fer ús del connector no és obligatori, però hi ha molts avantatgestagÉs a utilitzar el connector, per la qual cosa us suggerim fer-ne ús.
• Within the plugin it’s possible to add labels to the 9 insert pushbuttons (8 characters) so that you can instantly see the name of the connected insert. This label is saved into the ICX2.1 EEPROM so even if you move to a different computer, the names will show up correctly in the plugin right away. When you press an insert button, the set name will also appear for 2 seconds on the display (can be disabled) on the frontpanel.

Imatges instantànies:
A més d'utilitzar els valors predefinits de connectors, també és possible fer ús de 10 instantànies per canviar instantàniament entre diverses cadenes i configuracions. Aquestes instantànies es poden automatitzar, de manera que en seqüenciar un àlbum amb diferents cadenes i configuracions per pista no cal que ho feu a mà.

• Si feu clic als números del 01 al 10, podeu saltar entre diverses instantànies. Les instantànies es desaran automàticament quan facis ajustaments. També podeu copiar/enganxar instantànies des del botó de menú del connector.
• Seleccioneu una instantània que voleu copiar a una altra posició, feu clic a "copiar" al menú> instantànies i, a continuació, seleccioneu la instantània que voleu enganxar i feu clic a "enganxa".
• Alternativament, podeu "enganxar a totes les ranures" si voleu que s'enganxi la mateixa instantània a totes les posicions.
• Keep in mind that switching between inserts and other functions might introduce small clicks. This is not always coming from the relays, but could also come from connected equipment that ‘needs to settle’ before it works. Automating snapshots is the preferred automation method since this will give you multiple settings at once with just one action.

Menú de connectors:
Al botó de menú, que es troba a la cantonada esquerra del connector, podeu fer diverses configuracions.

Afegeix la unitat:

• Quan utilitzeu una adreça IP fixa o una reserva DHCP fixa, és possible afegir la unitat a mà escrivint la seva adreça IP. Això també accelerarà lleugerament el procés de detecció.
• En aquest cas, també és millor desactivar l'opció "Afegir unitats detectades automàticament" al menú de configuració.

Configuració:

• Mostra els rails del bastidor: podeu activar o desactivar els rails del bastidor de 19 polzades.
• Auto add detected units: enable/disable auto add units that will be detected by the plugin. This might helpful when multiple units are inside your network and you don’t want those units to be added automatically.
• GUI Scale: ajusteu la mida de la GUI del connector al vostre gust.

AVÍS IMPORTANT: 

• It’s important that understand that the Insert Computer and your DAW need to connected to the same network, so they can see each other. By default, the ICX2.1 is set to DHCP so it gets an IP address automatically and the plugin searches for a unit in the same network. This will work fine, but you might want to make a DHCP reservation or use a fixed IP address. This will  speed the first-time connection slightly up.
• When you are using Windows, the first time you open the dutch. audio rack plugin in your DAW, you will get a popup from the windows firewall. The plugin needs access to your network to make a connection to the Insert Computer. Depending on your OS (windows 10/11) it will look something like in this screenshot. You need to click Allow once for the plugin to communicate with your network and the ICX2.1.

Actualitzacions de firmware:

• The ICX2.1 firmware can be easily updated over the internet using the plugin. To update the firmware, your ICX2.1 also needs to be connected to your computer with a USB cable.
• Feu clic a qualsevol part del connector per obrir el diàleg d'actualització del microprogramari.
• Aquesta pantalla apareixerà quan hi hagi un nou firmware disponible.
  
• Click update and the ICX2.1 firmware will start updating, the screen will look something like this

NO INTERRUMPIU el procés d'actualització.
Un cop fetes totes les actualitzacions, l'IC2.1 es reiniciarà i tornarà al seu estat anterior i el connector "mostrarà l'actualització" completa. És una bona pràctica tornar a obrir el connector després d'haver acabat l'actualització del microprogramari.

Maquinari:

• Aquest dispositiu es basa principalment en circuits passius, però algunes seccions han d'estar actives, però sempre tenint en compte la transparència. Els resistents interruptors del panell frontal tenen leds per a retroalimentació visual. Tots els relés són relés Omron SMD segellats i de llarga durada.
  Inputs, outputs and all 6 inserts are using gold-plated Neutrik XLR’s. Active analog circuits make use of AD/Analog Devices and THAT line drivers. The mid/side circuit is based on the circuit originally designed by Wayne Kirkwood, but with additions/modifications.
• Quan aquest dispositiu s'utilitza en mode passiu (no stagestà activat), és 100% passiu i només els contactes de relé estan en línia. Això vol dir que és bàsicament un cable recte.

• The product must be returned in its original packaging or packaged in a way that ensures safe transport, including proper protection for rack ears. We are not responsible for any damage occurring during shipping.
• The customer is responsible for all shipping costs to our service facility.
• The customer remains responsible for the product until it has been delivered to us.
• If the product is found to be fully functional, the customer will be charged €200 to cover inspection and handling costs. Return shipping costs will also be charged.
